DiGeorge Syndrome

My baby was just diagnosed with DiGeorge Syndrome. I am very lost, confused, and so many other emotions. I was wandering if another moms are experiencing this? What your doctors are doing? And so forth. I just have so many questions and I don't go back to the doctors until next week to discuss treatment and options. Also, how big was your baby at birth and did you have a complicated pregnancy? TIA

    I am very sorry to hear this.  I am not sure either what this is but I you and your lo are in my t&p.  Call the doctor and see if you can go in sooner to have some of your questions answered

    I'm so sorry. I don't have experience to share but I will put you both in my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully next week will be here before you know it and they'll be more helpful to you guys then.

    I had a friend whose daughter has DiGeorge. She didn't have a complicated pregnancy, but she did get pregnant very shortly after she gave birth to her older daughter. Her youngest has had some serious issues with reflux and swallowing in general, and recently had surgery to correct a cleft in her palate.

    We don't really keep in touch anymore, but I'm sure if you needed resources I could put you in contact with her, and she could provide them.

    Have you posted on the special needs board? There may be some mommas there who have experience with DiGeorge syndrome. I have a student with it and although he has learning disabilities, his parents got him help very early in his life and I think that has made a big difference for him. He's a total sweetheart. You can contact your county's Early On program to see what they can offer. Good luck!
