Sorry if this is a repost... I'm mobile so can't search. I just was diagnosed with GD today. Boo. I was definitely not the healthiest eater (my husband is a coach so we would eat a lot of concession stand meals). So this new diet is a big change!! Any suggestions for good simple meals?! Thanks ladies!!
Re: Gd meal ideas
My favorite GD lunch is salad with greens, strawberrys (8), a small cut up granny smith apple, chicken breast, feta cheese, cashews, and light raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Sometimes I'll have a sandwhich on wheat bread with a pudding or a yogurt.
Breakfast is usually two bananas and a string cheese, or a fruit cup (no sugar added) a banana and string cheese, and sometimes I drink one of those Boost glucose shakes with a banana or fruit cup and string cheese.
Snacks are yogurt, string cheese and nuts (almonds or peanuts or sunflower seeds), cheese and crackers (wheat thins), wheat thins with a wedge of laughing cow cheese.....and this may not work for everyone as I am on insulin, but lately I can eat any bowl (doesn't even have to be the standard serving size) of whatever cereal I want and my fasting reading is still great, so this is my usual bedtime snack.
