Did you take any prescription medication for it? If not, what did you do to help it and how bad was it?
I need to know if I am being a baby. I had pretty bad m/s with # 1 & # 2 but # 3 is a whole different level now. I cannot keep food down very well at all. I have zero appetite and when I finally can force something down, it is not down for long. I try and eat small meals and stay hydrated but it really doesn't do jack. I stay at home with DD & DS and I have got to be more functional than this.
My OB called in a script today for Diclegis but I am a bit apprehensive about taking it because I read online it is new to the market. I was on the phone with my mom earlier and she made me feel like a complete moron for needing anything. She reminded me that she never took anything to get through her m/s and asked "can you not just get over it, I mean try and get past it?". That plan has worked out swell so far..
Re: If you had horrible morning sickness I have a question for you
That's crappy of your mom. Who cares that she didn't have to take anything. She has no idea how bad you are actually feeling.
I stopped taking anything towards the end of the pregnancy because the nausea lessened and I couldn't take the constipation that the zofran caused.
I hope you find something that works for you. I definitely don't think you can just get past it, especially with 2 LOs.
Typically zofran isn't accepted by insurance as a first round drug.
Zofran did shit for me.
I've been on reglan, zofran, phenergen, and diclegis with this baby. Zofran doesn't help nausea. Phenergen and diclegis help some but make me sleep.
I'm sorry your mom is a bitch. I have no patience for people who slam medicating severe MS. Know what's more dangerous than an untested med? Dehydration and malnutrition.
I took Zofran.
I was in a 24 hour state of nausea. I didn't have an appetite at all. I would try and force myself to eat/drink but I would throw it up every time. I couldn't hold anything down. I couldn't go into the kitchen because any food smells would make me throw up and dirty dishes were the worst. Sometimes just the movement from walking across the room would cause me to throw up.
Zofran helped a little but not a lot. It allowed me to eat/drink without throwing up everything but I was still in a constant state of nausea and I still threw up daily.
