Can you feel uterus at 11 weeks?

FTM, have been pregnant before but never made it this far. As of today I am 11 weeks and just tonight as I was feeling my lower abdomen I could swear I am feeling my uterus now above the pelvic bone. I don't know what else it could be unless me pushing on that area puts pressure on my uterus, bladder, something. Just feels so different so before I get crazy excited I'm hoping someone can set me straight.

Re: Can you feel uterus at 11 weeks?

  • I guess everyone is different, but I really think that it's more likely to be other organs moving around and out of the way.

  • You're probably right. Darn. If it were the uterus it would be more firm, I'm thinking.
  • Did it move when you pressed on it?

There's definitely a buldge of some kind and I can't tell it it's moving, or something over it is moving around it when I press on it. It does feel very weird, and I can feel it putting pressure on my bladder when I press on it. I sound like a crazy person.

"From conception to 12 weeks of pregnancy the uterus is contained within the bones of the pelvis and cannot be felt through the belly. After about 12 weeks, the uterus is large enough to be felt above the pelvis by your caregiver (and you), usually just being able to touch the very top of the uterus or fundus."

  • First thing in the am before getting out of bed if my bladder is full I can see and feel the growing little bulge.

  • The doctor could feel mine yesterday and I'm only 10.5 weeks along.
  • My midwife could feel mine yesterday at my 8 week appointment. It was still in my pelvic frame, but she told me that she'll show me how to feel it at my next appointment when it will be above my pelvis. I certainly don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that that's what you're feeling--every body is different!

This is true for MOST pregnancies but all pregnancies are different :)

  • Before I even knew I was pregnant, I had rolled over in bed, trying to get comfortable, and remarked to DH that my uterus felt swollen. Very well could have been another organ that had moved to accommodate the growing uterus. Either way, I felt something lol

  • Interesting, so maybe it is. I have an appointment on Monday so I'll see what my midwife finds. So fun!

What I should have added is that since every pregnancy is different I'd say its close enough you probably can.
which really didn't come out clear at all. Lol
