Anyone on the Essure or thinking about it? It's a procedure done in the doctors office to block tubes as a form of birth control. I'm a bit apprehensive. I had my fourth baby three weeks ago and we are certain that we are done.
Thank you for your feedback. I just haven't felt right about getting the procedure after a doctor came in with his card to talk to me about it. I even read online about a lady dying due to developing a terrible infection from it. I think DH needs to just go get snip snip. I really don't want to take anymore risk with my body, as I am high risk when pregnant. I just don't wish to put my body through the stress of anything else.
I don't recommend it. I worked in an OB office and saw many women has chronic pain after the procedure... The procedure inserts a metal coil into the Fallopian tubes and after a while scar tissue will build up around the coil causing a complete blockage of the tube aka no pregnancy. BUT- that scar tissue can be painful and doesn't always adhere to the inside of the Fallopian tube only.
One issue is that it has nickel in the coils. If you have a nickel allergy you shouldn't get the essure. I had to tell my OB about the allergy issue when he asked me if I wanted the procedure. If I had gotten the essure I would have ended up with a hysterectomy because of the allergy.

Anything you do is pretty much going to have side effects. I would do recent research on it and see what others have said and why they had issues with it. In the end, it is your decision.
Re: Essure Birth Control?
My insurance won't even cover it because of the known issues and additional procedures.
