When to indroduce baby carrier?

Hi all I'm newish here. I have a 3 week old baby girl (Allyna) and I'm trying to get her used to a baby Bjorne carrier. She gets fussy when I put her in it however. When did you introduce a carrier to your little one? Is 3 weeks too soon? Will she get used to it do you think? I'd live to have my hands free for housework etc. but right now she is not having it. Any advice?

Babies can be carried in carriers from birth. Be sure to check the age, size and weight recommendations for your specific carrier, and to verify that the way baby is in the carrier is appropriate for her size and age. Some babies don't like to be carried, others like some carriers or holds, but not others. We have a Moby and a Maya ring sling and lo didn't like either until the past few weeks (9 wk now), but now he loves them.

Try putting her in it when she's asleep. That's what I'm doing with my lo for the bouncer seat. He's now tolerating it for 5-10 min when awake.

I love my k-tan b/c it allows for multiple positions. DS was in it at a couple of days old in cradle position, but as he grows I expect to use the more upright positions: my DD progressed through upright cradle, inwards, outwards then side. What position(s) does your Bjorne have?

We have a moby and starting using it at about 3 or 4 weeks. Sometimes it seems he doesn't like it, but usually gets comfy once I start walking around a bit. It sounds strange, but i have recently learned that when he is fussy, I just need to wrap him in the moby and start vacuuming. He goes right to sleep. Lol.

I use the ergo from the first week on with both my children. I just use the infant insert until they have better head control and weigh 12 lbs.

Thanks ladies! That's all good advice. I'll keep trying and hopefully she gets used to it. If not I might try a different carrier/wrap. Much obliged!

I have used my mei tai since LO was less than 2 weeks old. She loved being close to me like that, and it's been helpful to get things done.

I've been carrying Mama in my Ergo since she was a week old. She loves it and always just passes out. She's 5 weeks now.

LO is about 6 1/2 weeks, 8 1/5 lbs, likes the Maya sling, doesn't like the baby Bjorne. First started trying carriers about 1 1/5 weeks ago bc of his size.
