Randoms

There really isn't any point to this post.  I just have random stuff I want to put somewhere.  I know you guys care and it won't bother you if I put random shit here.

So, lets all put random shit here!

DH had surgery Monday to put in his dialysis port.  He has been complaining a lot, and I have been trying to take it all in stride because I know he does hurt.  Last night I finally broke and reminded him that it was a 3 inch incision with a 1 inch incision in the muscle and that it was only 15 short months ago that I was cut hip to hip through every bit of tissue and muscle I had, not to mention my uterus and had a baby pulled out of me.  Yeah it wasn't pretty.  I then apologized profusely for being such a bitch and took him out to dinner and tried to make up for my shortcomings.   Then, I felt like an even bigger bitch when I was changing his surgical dressing and turns out his incision is infected so it really was hurting pretty badly.  I ended up taking off three hours this morning so I could take care of DD, get ready for work, take care of DH, go get an antibiotic for him and make sure he had everything he could possibly want or need.  Apparently those bumpies were right, I am a total bitch to my husband.  I have failed, legitimately failed.  =(

@willy_gert You have NOT failed!  There was no way for you to know it was infected and I probably would have felt similarly about the complaining without that knowledge.  This is a hard time for both of you.  Give yourself a break.  You are doing the best that you can.  That's all you can do.

    My random:

DH sent me a copy of an e-mail about new positions they are opening up in his company.  It would be a step up and there is one open here in the Northeast and in the South.  I asked him if he was applying and he said yes but we need to talk about it more.  I am ridiculously excited that he may be ready to make a move down to TX even though we weren't supposed to talk about it for a few more years.  I've gotten myself all psyched up about it and will be a little disappointed if that's not what he wants to talk about it for.

  • Willy - you are not a failure. Men are babies. We all joke about them being sick all the time. There is no way you could have known he had something more going on.

    My random -
I make a calendar for my family every year. It started as a Christmas present to my grandparents and mother. Last year I ordered 8 of them for my family, this year I will order 10. It is a lot of work finding photos from each of the 7 families, making sure everyone is accounted for somewhat evenly, finding good quality - non-blurry photos (camera phones will be the death of me), and putting them in some semblance of order so people aren't wearing scarves in August.

This year I an overwhelmed with my life and don't have a ton of time to devote to this so I posted on FB saying I wasn't making on unless people sent me photos. I have since gotted about 30 pics (mostly of decent quality) and will now spend my night making the damn thing, putting off some internal work I should do instead. I thin knext years will just be L, much easier to pick photos - haha

    Kid #2 - maybe???
    Diagnosed with Severe Ashermans
Hysteroscopy #10 - scar tissue grew back reblocking my right tube
#11 or IVF with scarring still inside?

  • Willy- don't beat yourself up. You didn't know! Plus, men are babies. DH had his appendix out when DS1 was three months old. He complained about his incision for months. At one point he even said I couldn't relate to the pain. I wish I had reminded him of my csection.

My random, TMI, and FFWC- DS1 just pooped in his underwear. He's never done that. Apparently he was so into playing he didn't realize he needed to go. Anyways, when he pulled his pants down to go to the bathroom, the poop fell out and he stepped in it. He was screaming and freaking out asking me to get it off of him. I laughed. I mean I cleaned him up of course, but I laughed while doing it.

This has happened to me.  Maya poops in hers at least once a week.  Now I look to make sure before I pull her pants down.  It actually happened to me once at home when she stepped in it and once at a store where it fell on the floor in the stall.  I ask her why and she looks at me dead on and says "I poop in the potty".  Um, clearly not.

I'm sorry but I'm laughing so hard right now! Poor Ethan!

I can't believe you guys can't smell it. It is pretty obvious when James has a poop accident.

Random: Along the lines of Willy's. My husband had a pilonidal cyst removed a little more than a year before James was born. One of my friends had also had one removed and she told him it was worse than child birth (she has 3 kids). So now, anytime I try to win the pain olympics by using child birth, he corrects me that his surgery was worse.

@hmp1 Ethan was in the bathroom brushing his teeth when it happened. I was on the couch when I heard the screaming. I thought he fell and hit his face or something the way he was screaming.

ETA: he went to the bathroom to brush his teeth. Then he was playing with a boat in the sink.

  • Oh the poop stories made me giggle!  L pooped in the bathtub the other day for the first time ever.  I asked her if she was going potty and she just stared up at me and giggled.  The next thing I know, there are floaters..... So GROSS!  But I was a big kid and fished them all out and ran her new bath water to play in.

  • I do smell it most of the time.  Both times I mentioned she was wearing a pull-up rather than underpants, so the smell was more masked than normal.
  • @willy_gert Don't beat yourself up as OP's have said. You couldn't have known. Anytime my DH complains about a thing I completely roll my eyes because he's a BIG baby. About 1 out of 20 times the whining is justified.

The poop stories are making me LOL at work. So funny! DS learned the word "turd" the other day. So now he walks around the house yelling it. Awesome. Thanks grandma!

My random: I just spend $300 in about 10 minutes on stamps for our christmas cards (and extras since they go up at the 1st of the year), minutes for our tracfones (1 years worth so really cheap but still) and some clearance clothes for DS on Children's Place. I'll be spending another $200 on a remote car starter 2 weeks from now when DH and I go out of town. I feel like I'm bleeding money and I'm really not liking it!

  • Thank you @PenelopePond for making us all laugh!

My random is my new boss who I love and was/is my friend before I worked here for her (she recruited me back) is very wealthy and dresses so well.  I wish I could dress as nicely as her.  I'm talking Ann Taylor is garbage to her.  She has Prada boots.  Tori Burch necklaces.

Anyway, I am embarrassed of my outfit big time today.  I have on dark Charlotte Russe skinny jeans, a Limited sweater that I got on their clearance rack for $10 and really bad cheap boots from Zulily that looked MUCH nicer online than in person, like I might toss them they look that cheap and the foot part is a little misshapen.  So basically, I feel like a cheap hooker today next to my ultra styling/conservatively dressed boss.

I always look like super trash when compared to my supervisor. She is super stylish and I am not. If I could wear jeans and an old tshirt every day I would be mega happy.

I dressed up today for a meeting and if I don't get these tights off soon I'm gonna cry.
  • We had my son's Christmas program last night. He lives 3.5 hours away. We left with PLENTY of time to get there early, and got delayed due to every possible thing. A semi rolled over on our exit ramp, the GPS gave us the wrong directions, we got stuck behind a train, and waited at a light that took for.ev.errrrrrr.rrrrrrrrrrrr. DH about decked a parking attendant at the school, and I ended up missing the performance, so I was standing in the school entry wall bawling my eyes out about it. DS's step mom ended up being my savior and got him into the second showing of the performance (it was split by classrooms, so the songs were the same) so he performed with the second group and I got to see it. I still feel like a royal dick, but... ANYWAY, that was a random vent/whine, but the reason I was responding to this thread was this: I can't wear my regular pants anymore, so I opted for leggings, not of the maternity sort. Bad choice. I wore them around my knees the entire way home because they were too tight for comfort. It was an odd, and yet liberating feeling!
  • All the pregnant ladies here & fb group are giving me the fever. I feel jealous that we have to wait until May to TTC (after my graduation). It makes me feel slightly left out. But I know we have to wait since it will be an insanely difficult& stressful five months. Plus I dont think im fully ready for another. Im currently hiding in my bedroom with a strong drink while DH plays with DD. It's been a long day, I think my child was replaced by a small monster.
