Hey ladies.
So I'm 33w3d, low fluid, baby is breech, and if my fluid drops anymore she'll be coming any day now.
I am overweight and have some belly fat, I am so nervous about c-section. This is my first ever PG, and the thought if being cut terrifies me. I'm mostly concerned about the recovery process.
Any feedback or similar stories?

Re: Overweight & C-Section
I definitely over thought it and over thought it up to make it worse- the worst part for me was the meds (I was on Mag Sulfate after due to pre-e).
Recovery isn't bad either- just keep up on your meds the first couple of days.
Good luck! And congrats on a soon to be new baby!
I too am overweight and had a c/s. It was way better/easier than I expected. I have the pouch above my incision. I've talked to a lot of women who are in the same boat and they say it does eventually go away...with a lot of work of course. But as pp said...you HAVE to keep it clean. I had my LO in August so I was sweating a lot. The incision got soggy and evenutally got infected. I would clean it twice a day just with a wet washcloth...just blotting the incision. I would then dry it with a hair dryer...a low cool setting. It looks perfect now.
Also, I highly recommend taking as many of the mesh underwear from the hospital as possible. They were a life saver for me becasue all of my underwear hit right on the incision. I invested in underwear that hit higher after the c/s. They may look ugly, but believe me you will feel better with granny panties on than with underwear that rub against the incision.
As far as the recovery, don't stress yourself. It is not that bad! Just be careful not to lift things or turn too quickly. Don't be afraid to take the pain meds. When they run out, take Motrin! It really helped. Take it easy and don't overdo it. Also, don't be afraid to ask for help. You just grew a human and will have been cut open! Let them wait on you! Good luck. You will do great!!
