What are you getting DH for Christmas??

If you and DH exchange gifts, what are you getting him? I'm seriously coming up blank for ideas. He wants a new tablet but the one he wants hasn't come out yet, or something. And I get him clothes periodically all year round as he needs them, so that's not a great idea for him. I'm starting to get stressed, I can't get him nothing!!

We usually agree to buy a big ticket item we've been mutually wanting as our gift to ourselves. For instance, this year we are buying a big screen plasma for the basement and converting our fireplace since those are two things we've both wanted for the last year. There's nothing to open on Christmas morning, but we're still both getting something we really want! Has he already purchased your gift? Could you talk to him about joining forces and buying something for the two of you?

The only other thing I bought DH besides clothes was a variety of whiskeys! He never wants to spend the money on them since they are expensive but he never buys anything for himself so I bought a few and he will be shocked and so happy. They will probably last him the next year! Is there something he wants but would never spend the money on? That's what I try to think of when I want to buy him a really good gift.

I got DH a pair of custom caddy shack themed shoes. I caved and gave them to him early. Soo I got him an Arizona Cardinals Hoodie and I think I'm going to get him a go pro cam for water skiing and that's all. I was going to do a custom motorcycle helmet with our girls hand prints but I waited to late and will have to do that for his bday. I thought about a golf package but he plays when and where he wants anyway. Its hard when they buy what they want though the year. I wish we could scrap the gift exchange and just take a weekend trip to New Orleans or something.

Normally I get him a lot of different things; mostly practical. We bought a new tv around Black Friday, so I guess we are just counting that as our present to one another. And honestly, we've been hemorrhaging money these past 9 months to make sure all of our house reno's were done before the baby. Long story short, NOTHING! I know I'm not getting anything either.

Beer. DH is a home brewer who enjoys tasting new craft beers. I spent some time at the liquor store earlier this week picking out some beers. I got a couple of interesting looks while shopping but the checkout person thought I was the best wife ever.

I actually want to get dh a laptop/briefcase bag from there but I'm not sure exactly which one and I don't want to spend that on something that isn't exactly what he wants. I guess I could take him to the store and let him pick it out.

My car just got broken into and SO's present was in there X( it's all they took! Well, that and tictacs. Freaking weirdos. The carseat and stroller were in there and they went untouched (thankfully) but it just makes me feel like some stupid asshole kid did it.

Sorry, this just happened, so I'm really pissed. But I re-ordered his gift. I got him a new leather wallet that is engraved "We love you Daddy!"

I knit him some gloves and I'm working on a scarf. I got him a new case for his phone. I have no idea what else to get him. He is the hardest person to buy for. I was thinking of a tablet, but I know he would prefer to pick that out himself.

I'm getting him a flannel robe, moccasin slippers, and a bottle of whiskey from one of our favorite local restaurants which is also a brewery/distillery. I figure we will be homebodies this winter so he'll be happiest with gifts that keep him warm and comfy and slightly buzzed!

How about a gift card with the amount of what the tablet is so when it does come out he can get it? Then something small. I have a gamer husband, so something xbox related is all I ever know to get him.

I don't work, but I sold some stuff we never use and stashed away the money. So I am just giving him the cash to fix his computer which he's been waiting a long time for while we spent money on more important things. He is going to be so happy/ surprised! Other than that he got a baby.

I got him the Go Pro. I heard him mentioning wanting one to a friend a few months back so I had to. He is also a christmas baby so I like to get him something big. Not sure what he will use it for considering LO is scheduled to be here dec 16 but I wouldn't put it past him if he strapped to him or her once they started crawling.

I also bought him a shirt on etsy that said something along the lines of worlds best daddy.

I got him a couple shirts of his favorite teams, 3 books that are for him to read to baby...about his favorite teams ex: Atlanta braves 101: My First Team, some good thick work socks, and this is gross but I got him a chewing tobacco spitter called the mud jug. If he's gonna chew, might as well spit into a decent receptacle that won't spill, instead of a nasty see through water bottle sitting around lol. I wish he'd quit though.

You ladies are all so thoughtful!! DH did send me a link to the new car he wants, but that's not happening right now. I forgot I was going to get us tickets to see Billy Joel, DH loves him. So that's my 1 idea. And I think the kids are going to each get him a giftcard to one of his favorite places, Chipotle, Starbucks, etc.

Ladies, I think these are all great ideas!!

My husband's birthday is right around Thanksgiving so he already got the Xbox One - and most of what my family bought him for either his bday or Christmas have to do with accessories or games for it.

For Christmas, I got him a bunch of casual clothes (Banana Republic seems to have 40% daily), new white socks, new dress socks, new swim goggles, an ice cream scooper since our last one died and he's an ice cream fanatic... hahaha... I also got him a hoodie he wanted from JCrew and an offensively expensive bottle of whiskey. And I put a giant bag of Sour Patch Kids (his fav) in his stocking.

Not that he's pushing anything out, but I wanted to do something for him to commemorate the birth of our first child. So I got him a gift for the hospital. It's a crystal decanter from Things Remembered that he can put the other bottle of whiskey I bought for him in it (this one is made in NYC and is called "Baby Bourbon" - so it's completely appropriate!). The front is engraved with "Raise a glass to our first born son" and the back is engraved with the baby's name and 2013. So the little one better make his appearance by the end of the year!!!

We're getting joint presents this year - upgrading our full size bed to a king, getting a new dresser for our daughter's room, fixing his computer, and getting an elliptical.

Actually, we got the dresser today - dh found a beautiful $350 one on sale for only $25 after coupons at Babies R Us.

I signed DH & I up for a gym membership at a really nice gym last month. He started using it right away and is really enjoying it. This was our plan for a gift for the both of us for Christmas. I haven't been able to use mine yet because I was on bed rest when I signed up and am going in for an induction tomorrow but I sure can't wait to get in there.

I ordered him a pair of gym shoes and a gym bag. And got him a nice water bottle.

Guess I went with the 'gym' theme this year. But he's really getting into it, so why not?

Got him some stocking stuffer junk and that's about it.

I'll be getting our baby and DD's pictures taken, as well. So that's a gift for us both (more for me, I guess).

He insists I don't buy anything for him because our son was all he wanted, but I get off on seeing him open gifts that he'll love, so I can't resist.

We decided to do a joint gift of either the Apple TV or Roku box back in September. Thought we'd save money this year since the new baby and all. What he doesn't know is my parents and I went in together and got him an iPad air. For all that he put up with, in particular in the 3rd trimester and the last weeks. He deserves it.

I bought him the black edition one... But there were two... One of them was 329.99 and the other was 399.99. I went with the 329 one.. The guy said it was just a better picture for the extra 70 dollars. I also got a discount from my brother in law who works at academy. I think I only paid 270 after his discount!
They told me the silver edition is just as nice. I think it is 270 normally!
