"Help" Bake Cookies

DS is 18M old and for our family pre-Christmas this weekend, I want to bake cookies. What could he possibly do to "help"? He loves helping me unload the dishwasher and stuff like that, so I know he's going to want to be involved. I'm not sure what he will be able to do to be a part of the baking.

  • I would make salt dough for him to play with on the booster tray with some cookie cutters. And after put some frosting in a small zip lock bag with a corner cut out so that he can squeeze it out and decorate a couple cookies.

  • Putting the dough on the cookie sheet?  Putting jimmies (sprinkles) on the cookies?  Just giving him so dough to play with?  Whatever you do, just know it will be messy!  Good luck and take lots of pictures!

  • We made cut-out cookies last weekend.  DD was entertained by having her own ball of dough to roll and cut.  Decorating is fun, too.  I am sure your LO will be happy to be included, no matter what.  Oh, and expect a mess.  That's part of the fun.

  • Thank you ladies! These are all great ideas and I will definitely expect a mess!
