22 Month old cries about everything!!

My girls are 22 months old and 7 weeks old.  Lately my 22 month old has been crying about everything.  She had croup and an ear infection a few weeks ago and thought that is why she has been crying all the time but it doesn't seem to be letting up at all.  Any ideas on why she is so emotional lately?  I also suspected because of the new baby sister but she wasn't like this the first few weeks she was home.

    It could be a combination of things. Maybe she's getting over the novelty of her new baby sister. Adjusting to a sibling can be difficult. Plus at this age they are beginning to learn that they are not the center of the world...that's a hard lesson to learn.

    Kids can have delayed reactions, especially with something as big as getting a new sibling. Her behavior may be unusual for quite awhile, even if she otherwise seems fine. My guess is between the new baby and being sick, she's probably gotten a lot of attention the last few weeks and wants to continue being treated special. Plus with a newborn in the house, she's likely figured out that crying gets mommy's attention very quickly so naturally she'll try it too.
