Every. Single. Day. I also had them with my previous pregnancy. After I have birth they were still severe enough that I ended up with a neuro consult and nerve block injections into the base of my scalp. I hope it doesn't get to that point again... I'm sure this didn't really comfort you at all either, but I sympathize with ya, girl! Hang in there!
Yess...I usually get headaches that come in the morning and are gone by the afternoon...but this headache has persisted the past 2 days. Im glad I'm not alone. Any remedies out there?
Oh gosh, well I'm glad that I'm not the only one. I was starting to get worried! Though it's not fun regardless. I've heard that magnesium helps! I have some in powder form but it has such an awful taste =\ I need to toughen up and just do it. Thanks ladies for your responses!
I haven't had issues with migraines but have been getting frequent headaches lately. I tend to go for Tylenol + caffeine. For migraines, people on FB keep suggesting soaking your feet and hands in warm water while putting something cold against the base of your neck. It's supposed draw the blood away from your head/neck to relieve some of the pain and tension. I haven't tried it personally but several people seem to swear by it.
So with my last pregnancy my migraines were debilitating, and it seems to be happening again with this one. I agree with others - try caffeine and Tylenol first to see if that helps. Chiropractic work helped toward the end of my pregnancy last time too. My doc will prescribe vicodin (oxycodone and Tylenol) and last time I had fioricet as well. We basically tried everything. I was in and out of the er with migraines last time, but hopefully that doesn't happen again.
I was getting headaches and was getting that whozzy feeling when I bent over or stood up. Midwife said I was dehydrated. I had been drinking lots of water, but I upped how much water I was drinking and haven't had that problem since then.
Since the cold weather has arrived I don't feel like drinking lots of cold water so it has to be more of a conscience effort then during my previous summer pregnancy. I've even put a little lemon juice in hot water.
I don't get migraines but get frequent headaches when pregnant. I am not sure if this is a whole different animal or not, but a midwife told me to increase my protein intake for headaches. Maybe that would help with a migraine too? Otherwise I just take Tylenol, drink caffeine, and make sure I am drinking as much water as I can stand.
I get them often. I take tylenol and drink a can of Mt Dew. Then i lay down and put a cold compress on my neck. It helps. They always come back though....
Have you checked the nausa meds side effects? ( if you are taking any) I found that mine caused my headach to get worse and once I stopped taking it my headach went away. Also talk to your doctor about them. I get migraines a lot aswell as other headachs and he ended up giving me meds for my migraines last time.
Hope they stay away! I've had a headache every day for 8.5 years now (not kidding) and they were noticeably worse weeks 12-15ish for both pregnancies. Blech.
I'm with ya girls! Mine have been pretty constant for a 2 weeks now. I've tried water, Gatorade, tea, coke, Tylenol about the only thing that works to dull the pain is ice. I want to go stick my head and neck in the 7 inches if snow that is slowly melting away!
I'm 17w and have had a headache for the past 3 days straight! Glad I'm not the only one! I've tried to up my water intake! I'm going to try upping my protein! Thanks for the advice!!
I am so glad I'm not the only one!! I haven't had any migraines but almost like a pressure headache everyday it seems like. I took tylenol a couple times but I don't like taking it all the time. Before I knew about this discussion board I was googling everything and it was freaking me out I was feeling like I was the only one but like I said im glad I'm not! It seems like I over think everything now ever since I've been pregnant!!
I had migraines pre-pg, but pg has made them more frequent and more intense. The only relief I've found is taking magnesium. My dr said it's perfectly safe and I've probably has maybe two since I've started taking it.
Re: Anyone w/ constant migraine?
I need to toughen up and just do it.
Thanks ladies for your responses!
Hope you are able to get some relief!
It's definitely not uncommon. Good luck to you!
