Lice - update

ds1 had lice. It was a pain in the butt. Though I think we got it getting checked tomorrow half his preschool has it. Been washing all night. Tip if any of your kids get lice get them from school early because it takes for ever to treat and ds has short hair. Hoping I don't have it. Dh checked and said no but I'm getting checked for real tomorrow. I have long blonde hair. I definitely paying to get it treated if I have it.


Got checked this morning all clear thank goodness. Took ds back to school.

    Oh that sucks! :( We all had it as kids. Mom boiled and scrubbed every thing we ever touched. Brushes/ponytail holders got tossed and bought new. We got shampooed with the lice stuff at least twice. Such a hassle!

    I work with kids too. I have don't had it since I was little though. I feel like my luck is running out.

    That's sad. Poor kid.

    SD had it once but it was before we had custody so it didn't cause too much hassle here. Niece had it recently. I was freaked out and convinced that I had it too (I didn't)

    SS used to get it pretty frequently before coming to live w us. We actually kept his head shaved or buzzed until he was about 9, because we couldn't really prevent him getting it when he visited his mom. Thankfully none of us got it at our house ever. Gives me the willies.

    I had it in college, I lived with 3 other girls who all had to get checked, but only I had it.  I have VERY THICK VERY CURLY hair, so they spent hours HOURS for DAYS trying to pick the lice out.  I eventually just had to coat my head in vaseline and sleep with it on to suffocate them, then they came right out, I had to wash my hair about 20 times with baby powder and dawn dish soap to get all the vaseline out.
