Not so proud Mommy moments

Not sure if this has been done before. Thought it would be fun to share any moments that you're not so proud of. Mine would have to be the other day. I've mastered BFing and eating. However, I managed to drop chocolate on her chin (without noticing) and later found it smeared in between her neck rolls. Fail.

  • I have totally dropped my phone on Sophie's head a few times during her MOTN feedings.. I felt pretty horrible about it :/

  • @hlcollums I just did that today! Had a mini after-the-fact heart attack when I realized what I'd done!

Also, two nights ago I clipped the tip of my squirmy little dude's finger while trying to cut his nails. He screamed and it bled like crazy.

Two big whoopsies in one week. Boy, do I feel like an awesome mom.

  • I accidentally snapped some skin when putting on her onsie a few weeks ago. She cried, I cried. I feel awful :(

This reminds me of a few weeks ago when the corner of the iPad hit LO on the head. She stopped eating, looked at me and started crying. I felt horrible.

  • I've dropped my pone on his head too! I nearly cried. I also have lost my shit and have had to put him down and take a breather. Oh, I also accidentally flung diaper wipe juice in his eye. He actually didn't mind that, but I felt terrible.
  • Yep I've dropped the phone on her head. Now I make sure to hold it to the side.

  • I may have parked LO in her swing in front of the TV for a good 15 minutes this morning so I could bathe long enough to shave *and* wash my hair.  She was totally fine with it, but I feel like a tool using the TV as a babysitter/pacifier.

  • I let my sister buckle her into the car seat, got home and one of the bottom clips wasn't even in! I knew I should have checked it but she has 2 young children, who would have thought!

Also now that she is getting longer it's harder to get comfortable in the rocking chair, I went to sit down holding her sideways and her poor little legs scraped the arm rest and she let out the loudest scream, my boyfriend thought I dropped her on the floor! Broke my heart :(

This, at least 3 times. Ugh I need to stop forgetting after I take her out! I blame it on winter because of the blanket I put on top!

  • I bonked his head w my elbow. :( he didn't even notice it but boy did I feel terrible. Or when he headbutts my chest bone and hits his nose. It just makes him more frustrated.
  • I reached for LO while staring at the TV and poked his face with my finger. He didn't cry but I should have paid more attention to what I was doing.

@jnetx -- this is me too!! Thankfully it's happening less and less but still when it did/does I felt like a huge p.o.s.

@roosterwrangler I had to fight not cracking up with LO sleeping on my chest as I read your post!! Lol I can picture your comments in my head.

  • I feel awful everytime I accidentally bonk DS or poke him in the eye, etc. He always looks right at me when it happens to see how I'm going to react, so I try to fake like I'm not terrified that I hurt him - and sometimes the only way I can do that is by smiling at him. It actually makes me laugh now when I think about it because I probably seem like a nutcase to him, running his leg into the door frame and then looking directly into his eyes and smiling...I may need to rethink this tactic.
    Hahaha… this is hilarious.

I dropped pie on my baby the second night we had her home.  She's been wearing my sloppy seconds every since she was first christened.

I'm jumping on the nail clipping bandwagon.
