Pregnant after a Loss

What have you "let go?"?

This morning, I realized my legs were a bit *ahem* furry :\"> and decided to shave. Holy moly, I felt soooo much better. I thought I was doing it for my DH, but turns out it was more for me. ;) I must give him credit. I didn't realize they were that bad and he hasn't said one word. Sweet man.

Please don't let me be lonely!! What in your personal life have you "let go" lately?

I wish I could say this was my only one, but I'm sure I could name a dozen!

Ha! :) Your DH was so sweet not to say anything.

I have let go of marketing my business since my bfp. I am just too distracted. It doesn't really help that it's December and everyone is in holiday mode.

  • Lately I have been so exhausted that I just stopped putting on make up for work. I work the night shift in a NICU and parents are almost never there at night and babies don't care what you look like. The first couple of nights I went without though my charge nurse asked if I wasn't feeling well (That was a real confidence boost). Since then I have resorted to at least putting on some powder, blush, and mascara so I don't look sick.

I quit shaving like, two months ago - but now that I see my OB every week and am about to start cervical checks, I started shaving again. I do feel like a new woman when I shave, but the actual shaving part is such a pain at this point! :)

It takes me longer to get the house cleaned up. I don't let things just pile up, but I used to keep a pretty strict cleaning schedule and would do a little bit every day. Now, I just wait until I have a burst of energy and get it all done in one shot. Only things I really keep clean are the kitchen and DS' room/bathroom.

I take long walks with my dog every day, too. I worry about not being able to get outside with her as I progress.

  • I can totally relate to the shaving....I am honestly not sure when the last time is that I shaved my legs. I have very fine blonde hair so it isn't super obvious or prickly, but holy crap it's gotten LONG! lol

I also haven't been exercising AT ALL. I'm really annoyed with myself.

My exercising and dog walks have definitely decreased, but I think mine is more weather/daylight savings related than pregnancy :(

It takes me longer to clean too. When I stand for more than 20 minutes my back hurts so bad I have to sit for a while. So if it takes me 2 hours to clean the house normally, now it takes 4! Ha!

  • Our Christmas tree isn't up. DS2 loves my mom's Christmas tree & I feel like such a failure that the tree isn't up yet. We planned on doing it tonight but now we're taking him to see Santa tonight. I only have the energy for work & one or two things a day before I crash. I'm also anticipating a 2nd tri energy boost. I could literally go to sleep right now.

    And yes...hair....everywhere. :/

  • I'm a freaking yeti.
I also have slacked on the exercises but I'm pretty certain that is because finals and holidays makes for a crazy time.

  • Shaving "down there" is hopeless. I have up in like month seven. I have also gotten lax with make up. Im a SAHW and it's just so much trouble!

  • I only shave my legs like once a week lately and the lady parts once every two weeks...seriously taken a back seat since I have gotten so huge! Also my eating habits...I would still be eating better if so many foods didnt make me nauseous!

  • Decorating for Christmas. I feel bad for my girls, but the thought of packing it all back up again is too daunting. We did put up the tree and it looks pretty good with just the lights and presents underneath.

  • Definitely exercise -- I was good about it for the first couple of weeks, and then my wife got nervous about me exercising until we'd seen a hb (guess she has PGAL brain too), and then after we saw a hb, the fatigue hit.  I'm worried about weight gain during pregnancy, so I really need to find the motivation to start again.  I don't have much m/s and I'm solidly pre-bump, so I kind of have no good excuse.

  • Shaving! Especially the lady parts.

My exercise routine has lessened too.  I am an aerobics instructor and teach 3 times a week still, but other than that...nothing.  I used to be an exercise maniac- atleast 6 times a week, so this has been a shock to my system.

I have also let cooking creative meals go.  We eat out more, and when I cook it is more basic. Scrambled eggs for dinner? No big deal.

I have also given up on the idea of staying late at work.  My hours are 8 to 4, and I used to try to stay a bit longer to get things done and show my commitment. Now I am out the door at 4! I am just so tired.
