I don't think I've ever been so angry at DH

Ugh - need to vent. After telling my husband I would like to have a quiet NYE at home and maybe we could invite over two other pregnant couples I see that he sent out an email inviting 15 people to a PARTY at our house. WTF? on Saturday I was miserable at an xmas party where I sat alone while everyone drank and smoked outside and I told him I was done with parties until after the baby. And then he does this! I'm sitting at my desk crying at what an inconsiderate, thoughtless move this is, expecting me to host a house full of people at 7 months pregnant!

    Not cool!  I would have DH send out a note cancelling the party ASAP or come up with a public place you could all party and where you wouldn't have to worry about hosting.

    That's really inconsiderate.  I would have my husband cancel, move it to a bar (where I would not go), or last ditch I would go over to a friend or family members house.  My husband already knows I'm not even thinking about staying up for New Years, that would be miserable!

    Wow that was really thoughtless! If you were on the email chain I would reply all with something saying your husband had a temporary lapse in judgement where he forgot you were 7 months pregnant and there will not in fact be a party. Then let him deal with reorganizing elsewhere.

    I actually drafted that exact email - but I don't want to be the one coming off as a bitch to our friends. Let him deal with it!

    Ugh - sorry to hear that!  Hostessing can be fun, but when you're not feeling your best (and can't down a few glasses of wine) it's just not worth it!

    My husband decided he was going to invite his family over our house for Christmas day.  We close on the house next Monday and don't move in until December 21st...being 7 months pregnant and working full time, apparently he think I'll have enough time and energy to unpack, make the house beautiful and host his family for Christmas.  When I confronted him, his defense was "well, we both have a half day on Christmas Eve, so we'll have plenty of time!"

    OMG - that makes a NYE party look like nothing! No way, there is no way I could do THAT!

    Haha! Not sure what (if) he was thinking.  the ONLY redeeming part of this story is that he said "you're superwoman, you can do anything - I figured you could handle it!"  I guess it's nice that he thinks I can handle a lot on my plate, but jeez - he's lucky he wasn't slapped!

    True - still a win for you.  Dinner and no party to have to worry about.  Too bad he had such a lapse in judgment!
