Just a vent...
Pre-pg I loved me some sleep. I was good for a solid 9 hours that moment my head hit the pillow. About half way through my pregnancy I got horrible congestion that kept me up at night. Then it was horrible headaches and of course there was the general discomfort and insomnia of the third trimester. Now I dread going to bed because I know I am getting up in the middle of the night to feed DD (which I am happy to do) and then to pump (which I HATE).
When oh when will I ever get 8 hours again????
Re: I can't remember the last time I enjoyed going to bed
"When it comes to sleeping, whatever your baby does is normal. If one thing has damaged parents enjoyment of their babies, it's rigid expectations about how and when the baby should sleep." ~ James McKenna, Ph.D., Mother Baby Behavioral Sleep Center, University of Notre Dame
I supplement with EBM due to latching problems and slow weight gain. Unfortunately I don't get great output from the pump. The middle of the night pumping yields the most milk and it is also helpful that DD is asleep and I don't have to tend to her.
