Feeling where the baby is at 17 wks?

I'm 17 wks 1d today and have been feeling the baby for about two weeks now. Over the past two or three days I feel like maybe I've started to feel exactly where the baby is. Sometimes it'll be really heavy in one section where my uterus is and then it 'll move and I might feel a little flutter or nudge right near or exactly where the weight is. It doesn't feel like gas but is it too early to feel that or is anyone else feeling this?

I wouldn'y say its too early. Yesterday when I woke I felt a solid bulge on the right side. When I moved to a different position so did that bulge. I've also been feeling the baby for weeks now (I'm also 17 weeks) but its my second so not surprising.

  • I don't think it's too early at all. Congrats on feeling your baby! :D

  • Thanks ladies! @Softservecity, yes that's exactly how it feels! It'll move sometimes as I move and other times all of a sudden I'll feel a drastic change in weight and heaviness rolling to the other side of my belly out of nowhere.
  • I am 17 week and am feeling the same way and I am curious to if it the baby
  • I can usually tell where she is because I. Will feel those weird twinges that we all get on either one side or the other. And if I go to listen with my Doppler sure enough that is where she is every single time. I think I've only felt one actual bubble like feeling that could have been movement, however I still am early and it could be questionable whether it's gas or not. You on the other hand are very likely feeling your little. That's about the time a lot of woman start to from what I've heard. Congrats!!

    It's a BOY

  • Nope it's your baby!! I've been feeling that same description too for about 2 weeks now and I'm 17 weeks. At first I though it was some muscle cramp till I felt the heavy nudge, sometimes she will nudge in the bone and I have to massage her and she shifts the other side lol
  • I'm almost 18 weeks and in the past week or so I've been noticing a hard area loe and to the right. Sometimes he goes left if I roll over. Its pretty cool and crazy at the same time! Congrats on feeling your baby!
  • @Lilxty94, yes, definitely feel the baby laying on my hips (seems to be its favorite spot) and it hurts so bad! I got so desperate one time I started hopping on one leg sideways and massaging at the same time to wiggle it out, lol. Worked for a little bit but then it rolled right back :/.
  • I'll be 18 weeks on Wednesday and can tell exactly how both of our twins are positioned. :) (It helps that I had an ultrasound 2 weeks ago and can check on them with my doppler though.)
  • I was told today that the fluttery, could be gas, could be me imagining it, feelings were probably the baby. I'm 18weeks.

It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s that I don’t know you. Stranger Danger.
  • Have to say I'm jealous of you ladies who can feel your babies.  I'm 19 weeks along and still haven't felt anything yet.  I would freak out but I somehow feel that if he/she was tumbling around in there when I was 16 weeks along full of energy that he/she is ok.  I go in for my A/S next tuesday so here's to not freaking out before then.
  • @Bliz1712, thanks! Yes Dara is my real name. When I was little I was obsessed with art so Doodle became my nickname with my family. @motoLyn, have you tried drinking OJ and then sitting really still? The baby tends to move a lot more when and right after I eat. I hope you feel your little one soon!
  • Thanks @doodledara, I will give that try tonight.  I just got through a week long cold/cough and haven't been sitting still for very long.  I think I need some "sit still" time tonight.
  • I felt the same around 16 1/2 weeks, cherish the feelings!
  • Dara is my name too!! It's always so fun when you meet another one out there in the world! Congrats on feeling the baby.. I have been feeling my little girl the last couple weeks as well!
  • I am also almost 17 weeks and I think I am definitely feeling baby....I described it tonight as feeling kind of like a faint little heartbeat inside me...felt like little thumps.
  • I felt flutters a couple of times in the last few days . I was so excited because i know i've never felt that feeling before. then a lady I know who has had 3 kids told me I'm over thinking it because it's just gas. She said it's impossible to feel the baby move so early and I wouldn't feel it until I'm at least 20 weeks. Made me really sad because I know what I felt was different. But she had 3 kids before so I figured I shouldn't argue with her about it. Oh well.
