Cribs with wedge?

Hi all,
My DD is 5 1/2 month & I have had a wedge on her crib since she was 3months. Even in her bassinet I put a slight elevation. Ever since she woke up choking on her saliva I never felt comfortable on a flat crib. Now the she rolling on her side a lot, during the night I find her sideways I feel she might bump her head on headboard. I think it is b/c her crib is elevated & also feel she cannot roll around due to uneven level.

How are your LO's crib, wedge or no wedge?

Re: Cribs with wedge?

  • DS has a crib wedge, he refuses to fall asleep while laying completely flat. Sometimes I find him sideways or at the other end of the crib. Even if he bumps his head I don't think he could do it hard enough to really hurt himself. Maybe try and see if your LO will sleep without it if you are worried.

  • At 9 months my daughter still has her wedge.  She had really bad reflux, I weaned her off her meds just over a month ago but didn`t want to take the wedge out at same time just in case.  She spends most the night in bed with me (flat).  She doesn`t move around in her sleep so it doesn`t affect her rolling.

I doubt a wedge would be the difference between hitting the bars or not...and rolling in her sleep would not result in an head injuryébruise or anything...there is a limit amount of space to built up enough movement to cause any harm!
