Bathtub opinions

Ok. I've checked faqs and tried searching, but I'm not finding anything, so please send links if you can. When people ask what we still need, I include the baby bathtub on this list, and then almost everyone locally tells me it's not a necessity, and we will just use the sink anyway. So did you get a bathtub? Or just something for the sink? What are your opinions on this? If you got a bathtub, which one? (Also, sorry if this was in the ftm ? List)

We got a tub because Lo will have her own bathroom and space was not an issue. I also thought it was cute and I do what I want. I'm a FTM so I haven't used it yet but the Amazon reviews were good. Here's what I got as a shower gift:

We got one because we don't have a bathtub (stand up shower only at the moment) and I didn't like the idea of bathing LO in the kitchen or bathroom sink. That's the one I've used too! For the same reasons stated. I would find it awkward to bathe baby in the sink when they are to small to hold up their neck this tub made it more practical.

We got the Boon tub as well as a $8 sponge insert for the early infant stage.

I liked the Boon tub because it collapses and doesn't take up a lot of room.

I've also heard from other moms that they recommend the angelcare tub and it is much more economical (around $30 instead of the $90 that the boon retails for in Canada)

We are getting a tub from a friend who never used hers and asked if we wanted it, but we also have one of those little bathing seat things that you can stick into a regular tub. I'm not sure which one will work out best for us though, so I'm not really any help there!

I got these bathing contraptions that are basically just fabric mesh on wire bouncer-type frames. I have a small one for the sink, and then a bigger one for the bathtub. You just full up the sink/tub so that baby's body is submerged. We'll see how it works.

We have the Eurobath - lasts longer than the whale one when they get older. I can't imagine washing the baby in the sink - i've seen it done but doesn't seem comfortable long term.

For the first 2-3 months we used something like this in our kitchen sink:

We would sometimes use the sling but really it was easier to bathe baby in the sink. Once baby wasn't so floppy I would put the baby tub in the big tub and bathe them together. That probably won't be possible with 3 in there, so baby will continue to get a separate bath until he is sitting up well enough to be in the tub with his brothers.

@Shannahbee We got the same type of thing. My sister has one for my 4 month old nephew and she swears by it.

Like a PP... We do not have a bathtub, only a stand up shower. Our bathroom sink would be way too small, and our kitchen has really high ceilings and is open so I was concerned about the draftiness if we were to bathe her there. We ended up getting this one below. It comes with the little mesh sling thing as well as the tub. We got this same tub too. I liked it and used it for awhile. Until she could sit upright in the water unassisted and i help secure that she wasn't going to tip over and get her face in the water if i didn't catch her in time...so probably around 6 months i'm guessing. I never washed baby in the sink. I always used the tub.

I filled a small pail with soapy water and wiped her down for the first month but afterwards the tub was a necessity. I bought an expensive spa tub that was a hassle and the shower head didn't work on it so I got a basic tub from Walmart about two months later and it got the job done. DD1 started taking a bath in the regular tub at about 10 months

Yes we got a bathtub. The Eurotub. And we used it until DD was 10 months old (first lying down and then sitting in it). I actually hated bathing in the sink.

I had one if these for DD and we loved it! Mine was made so you couldn't remove the mesh part to wash it so we had to pitch it (it was white and eventually for pretty gross) but the new one I got is the same from Walmart and the mesh can come off and it collapses! I think it was $12 or something like that. Oh and it even had "flaps" that keep baby warm while you bathe him/her.
