Laryngomalacia?

Anybody diagnosed with that?

Our pediatrician seems to think that is what she has, and we have an appt with the ENT to confirm. She grunts and squeaks all the time. I believe it has caused her to choke a few times and spit up.

The only time she's quiet is when she's in a deep sleep. So of course I check her constantly to make sure she's still breathing.

I honestly don't know. I googled ::hangs head:: and it looks like they can do a scope up her nose while she's awake. I really hope not, but it said they do that to see how severe it is.

I also read it gets worse before it gets better and I definitely know it's gotten worse.

That's no fun Just remember, if your LO had a nasal feeding tube or needed nasal suction, the scope up the nose is nothing new!

Ok they're doing the scope on Monday morning at 8:30. He said it would be just like her getting the feeding tube in the NICU. I said "I didn't see that happen"

I saw the feeding tube being put in and it really didn't seem to bother him. Good luck!!!

She was quite unhappy. I had to hold her arms down and the nurse had to hold her head. The camera was a lot bigger than her little feeding tube.

Her Laryngomalacia is moderate to severe. Thankfully we don't have any blue or apnea episodes, but when she gets her first cold it may be a different story.

Oh geesh. I'm sure that was difficult on you. What is the next step?

Since she isn't have breathing issues, he wants to follow-up and do another scope in March. He said he would keep an eye on her til she outgrows it (1-2 years).

He did confirm when she catches a cold, she may have difficulty breathing and told us what to be on the look out for. I'm going to be so stressed when she gets sick.

Oh man. I understand completely. My LO just got over a cold and I was on eggshells the whole time. And he doesn't have any known issues.

I feel for you. And pray that your LO outgrows it quickly and doesn't suffer any issues with it until then.
