NWMR talk to me about double strollers

I have a 16 month old DS and am 32 weeks with our DD. Need to get a double stroller. Currently for a single stroller we have the citi mini and really like it because it is lightweight and fold and opens very easily. I am looking for a front and back stroller - those side by sides look difficult to maneuver especially through doorways. Thanks for your help! I have learned so much through this site!!!

Re: NWMR talk to me about double strollers

  • DS's are three years apart and we have the City mini double GT. We LOVE it.

I never have any trouble maneuvering it and it maneuvers a lot better then a tandum stroller, even the city select. And it fits through every single doorway we have ever gone through. The only store I have had a problem in is Gymboree, but even an umbrella stroller has problems in that store!

We also looked at the City select and I am so glad we didn't choose that stroller. I saw another family with that stroller once with the kids the same age as ours. The older child didn't look like she fit in her seat anymore and the baby at 10months was kicking the seat in front of him already.

  • I have found that almost all side by side strollers are much easier to push than the tandem ones. Most also fit through standard doorways.  The Valco Snap Dual is awesome and it's super lightweight.  I would do that over a City Mini double any day.

If you want a tandem, I love the B-Ready.  I hated pushing the City Select because it was really long, heavy and hard to turn.

  • I don't have much advice but wanted to say that I also have a 16-month-old (or she turns 16 months next week, anyway) and I'm 32 weeks pregnant also.

We went ahead and bought the double BOB because we use the single BOB so much for twice daily dog walks and for running on weekends.  But I still would like to get a smaller double stroller for the car/mall, so I will be watching your thread!

My mine are 16 months apart also and I have the Duallie too.  I just got the Baby Jogger Versa and the Uppababy Rumbleseat/Valco Hitchhike for my car stroller.  I needed something that can be a double or single.  The Rumbleseat fits right on the Versa or I can use the Hitchhiker as a ride on board depending on what we are doing.  I am loving it so far.
