New Year Resolutions

Who's got one?

I want to be more domestic, keep a cleaner more organized house, and spend more quality (sexy) time with my husband.

Re: New Year Resolutions

  • Ugh, here's mine:

-Do the T25 or Insanity programs for at least 3 months, ideally for 6.
-Get back into my Lilly Pulitzer dresses by July. (Hahaha, even I'm laughing at this one.)
-Shoot at least one wedding in 2014 (even if it's just by being someone's second shooter).
-Save for one of my L-series lenses.
-Stop cursing so damn much. For the kids.

  • - Lose ALL the baby weight, at least as much as I can this year...keep it up until it's gone.

    - More sex. This year hasn't been favorable for sex. I miss how things were way back when.

    - Keep my resolutions this year instead of getting pregnant.

  • Travel to Europe to see my grandfather once the baby is born (he's 91 and not doing so well health-wise).
He told my mom he wants to meet his first "great grandson"...he is convinced it's a boy even though we are team green.
Boy or girl, it would be amazing if we could make it a reality.

  • I don't make resolutions either really...I rarely stick to them.  But I always shoot to make a conscious effort to reduce my vulgarity since I talk like a truck driver (or diesel mechanic like my Dad), eat healthier, keep my weight within a healthy range, be more loving to my husband and enjoy more things in life (Like wine and chocolate!)

  • I love New Year's resolutions! I'm really good at keeping them, because I keep them realistic.

-Lose 5 lbs after having baby. (this is realistic, if I can do more, yay)

-Walk at least 2 a twice (while on maternity leave)

-Travel somewhere different this year, out of state at least.

    -Cook more at home

-get more involved with family and start new traditions

  • Other than the obvious of getting back into shape after LO gets here, my only resolution is to keep up with housework throughout the week so that we can spend more time as a family together on the weekends (rather than cleaning). My usual routine is to spend all weekend cleaning, and then doing nothing throughout the week.

  • Be more organized. This isn't really going to be a choice for me. Staying home with 2 kids I will have to be if I want to retain at least some of my sanity.

-Keep a healthy and strong relationship with SO.
-Lose baby weight, and finally reach my goal weight/health.
-Finish at least half of the 12 credit hours I have left for my degree
    -Find a good SAH job
-Pay off our furniture, and keep our credit cards balances low, finishing next year at the $0 balance we have now!
  • I'm not a fan of NY resolutions because they're so difficult to keep and then I get depressed when I don't get them done.

However, things I want to do next year are:

    - Get better, healthier, fitter from the accidents as soon as possible by whatever means possible.  I'd really like to be able to hold my own child!
    - Get over to the UK so that DH's family can meet Baby-LO.
    - Have fun!  I want 2014 to be a year that we do things we want to do because they make us smile, not because we should or somebody else wants us to.
    - Go on vacation.  It's been almost 3 years since my last vacation and I'm getting a wee bit desperate.  UK doesn't count because every time I go, I work all week....
  • These are goals rather than resolutions for me
    - sumbit all projects currently in progress to journals (and pray for not getting rejected)
    - don't yell at the kids
    - bite the bullet and fly with the kids for a vacation somewhere
    - run a 10-k
    - be nicer and smile more

  • I'm going to steal @Dishylo's and say do fun things and not things we have to or feel obligated to. I really want to do at least one fun thing a week as a family. I wouldlike to run a 10k Lastly, I really look forward to giving our wine club card a good workout so I can drink all the wine! :x

I don't do NY resolutions because I never keep them. Here are two things that I know will happen:
    -birth this baby
    -DRINK ALL THE WINE.

    This exactly!

  • 1) Getting my sex life back is priority. I miss my husband.
    2) Get buckled down and start my personal business I've been talking about. Even if it's just making a FB page and starting small.
    3) Get my home life back into a structured schedule like it was before I got pregnant.
    4) MEAL PLAN AND CUT COUPONS!

  • Another one that's more of a I'd-really-like-to-do-this-but-not-make-it-a-resolution is to somehow make my knitting profitable. Maybe then I can be a SAHM?

  • Most of mine are the same ones I've been using for the last decade or so and are pretty typical. Lose weight, be more organized, save more money, etc.

The only new one I want to add is to make mommy friends and be more social. Being a SAHM can be really lonely if you don't have family or friends around. I don't care if it's through library storytime or an online meet-up group - I need some adult socializing or I'm going to lose my mind with 2 kids. ;)

I totally get you on the sahm thing. The end of pregnancy had turned me and my son into complete hermits. I am scared that with two in the winter I will never leave the house again. I need to make a conscious effort to interact with people.
  • I wouldn't call it a NY resolution, but an after baby resolution ;)
-lose all baby weight like I did after DD but go on to lose more- ideally about 20-25 lbs.
    We'll see what happens ;)

Pretty much the same one that I make every year and fail at
    • Find some balance in my life between husband, family members, friends, work, school, and my hobbies
I'm adding the following this year, because I really like my job and while I know that I will never regret using ALL my sick days and being off until the 2014-15 school year, I am also a bit freaked out about not working for that long.
    • Learn to slow down and enjoy the little things in life as opposed to being constantly on the go

  • 1. Be successful at BFing and CDing 2. Cook more. (Or learn to cook period) ...at least twice a week. 3. Be a successful SAHM. I went this year from working full time, to part time. After DD is born I am not planning on going back and I really need to make this work for our family.
