anyone's kid scared of the vacuum cleaner (or other weird thing)?

I usually vacuum when LO isn't home, but this past weekend she was home. She started crying as soon as she saw it, and wouldn't stop crying unless I was holding her while the vacuum was out. This is going to be interesting!

Anyone else have a similarly quirky child?

Our cleaning lady does that but we only have her come sporadically. I really should do vacuum more. FFMC?!

@uconnhuskie007 Lol. I feel ya. I was saying that from a place of shame, not meant to be snobby at all. I'm ashamed because I don't clean like I should. Our cleaning lady comes like MAYBE twice a month....not at all enough for me to not vacuum.

N loves the vacuum. So much that he gets in the way while we are trying to clean.

If he could figure it out, I'm sure he would do the cleaning himself.

On the other hand...he hates the sound of anyone sneezing. Even a quiet sneeze.

Not much bothers V. However, he used to LOVE the Geico Humpday commercial, but now he SCREAMS every time the camel says "Whoop Whoop." It's actually kind of funny! LOL!

HAAAAAA I would love to see all this go down... V is running from the camel while another runs from her tree, two others are chasing the vacuum while a few are in corners hiding... sammie is one who LOVES the vacuum but we have to pull it out 2x a day so she better

She's not a fan of being cuddled.. never has been but I can't think of anything YET that she runs away from

K is not a fan of the blow dryer. I haven't tried it in a few months; so, it may have changed.

She also whimpers the first time she sees FIL and five minutes later, she loves him. This happens every time he comes to visit orwe go tthere. If it is a multiple day thing, she is fine all the other days.

My LO hated my parents' bathroom and cried hysterically when dh and my mother tried to bath her there. A few weeks ago we were at my parents' house an was covered in food. I brought her into the bathroom and she started crying and fighting to get to the ground and crawl out. I ended up stepping into the empty bathtub with her, fully clothed. I gave her lots of hugs and brought in a few toys and that seemed to fix the problem. She has been fine since.

She is also easily upset around doctors in coats and scrubs, though that seems to be easing up with time.

H also hates the coffee grinder. He has a love/hate relationship with the vacuum cleaner - DH does most of the vacuuming; H loves to watch him, but from a distance. if it's off, then he's kind of obsessed with it.

E loves anything loud! Vacuum, trucks, blenders, hair dryer, anything! She chases it or comes running saying "Wooooo" with a huge smile!

My LO hates the vacuum.....she used to walk away from it and cry but now she comes close to it, not me, and cries. She also jumps when the timer in kitchen goes off or the dryer timer

Z could care less about the vaccuum. He's scared of most animated toys (his sock monkey max and tickle me elmo) he's fascinated and freaked out all at the same time. He's also scared and freaked out by cats and dogs when he first see's them. He'll look at them and whine and wants to be held but wants to pet them at the same time. It takes a while for him to warm up to them and they have to be laying down before he'll even attempt to visit them. if they move he freaks. he's a weirdo for sure.
