@svedkastoli, both my kids were born in pretty stressful conditions. When baby is in distress, their vital organs tend to be a little more developed because they're prepared to be born (at least that's what the doctors told me). When Emma was born, she'd been sitting in almost 0 amniotic fluid for a week and was in distress. My body was in complete shut down mode. Ozzy was a similar situation. He had really developed lungs because of being in low amniotic fluid. I really think that was the only reasons my two came home so early.

Jacob is doing so well!! You'll have him home in no time!!

He's such a handsome little guy!!!

I look back on Emma's pictures now .... can't believe that monster started out under 2 lbs!

They grow too fast. I can't believe Ozzy is already 5 weeks. Can I stop time for a little bit?

Very intersting explanation but it makes sense.

@svedkastoli, on the bright side of having a NICU baby, they come home on a schedule already and they can sleep through anything. Ozzy was in his pack n play in the living room this morning and I vacuumed the floor. He didn't even wake up! It's scary taking them home, but you'll quickly get in a routine with him and you'll feel way more relaxed at home and not so awkward with all the cords and stuff. I'm so excited for you that it's getting close!

In most pictures you post of Ozzy, he's the only thing there so while I know he's a preemie, it's not always evident because there's nothing for size comparison. Seeing big old Santa hold that itty bitty little guy is just making me melt. These are so sweet! Love them!!!
