Avery's birth story

Contractions started at 730pm on Monday started timing them at 10:30pm they were 4 minutes apart. Called on at 1130pm was in l&d by 12:30pm. I hadn't packed my bag so I had to do that one ob said to head in. Said I was dilated to a 3.5-4cm. Fell sleep from 2:15am and woke up at 4 am to dh standing over me looking at me. I just about jumped out of my skin! They checked me and I was at a 4.5cm. My water broke at 4:30am. Contractions got much worse. I had to labor in bed due to being a vbac but ob let me take a hot shower for 10 minutes to help with pain relief. By 7 I wanted an epidural. I had stopped dilating and was in a lot of pain. Got my epi by 7:15am they started me on pitocin at about 8:30 or 9 am since I still want progressing. At 4pm I had pressure and cervical pain but I still want fully dilated. The pain Got progressively worse so I got two top offs for the epi. At 6 I was fully dilated. 6:30 nurse had me do two pushes with contractions and his head was coming out So she called for the ob to get her tail in my room cuz he was coming.I waited thru two sets of contractions while ob got herself prepped. I pushed 4 more times and Avery was born at 6:49pm. I started hemorraging so they opened the iv line all the way too get my uterus to contact. I was taken to the OR for a 4th degree tear that my ob did she had never seen in her career. It tore only on the inside and it tunneled down into my rectum and toward my intestines instead if tearing outwards towards the anal sphincter. It took 2 hours to get sown up. In the end he's 8lbs 3oz of lovable goodness. So proud of myself for doing the vbac.
