Apparently my MIL KNOWS IT ALL.
She's knows everything about BFing alhought she didn't BF any of her own children. When DH is fussy, MIL ALWAYS says it's gas pains (if I hear it one more time, I'm going to flip). And everytime I'm holding DD with her around and she starts to cry, MIL automatically wants to take her (like I can't handle it).
Also, as soon as I walk in the door, MIL grabs DD. I'm not kidding, grabs her and just takes her away.
And she's supposed to watch DD when I go back to work. Oh god, please help me. I think I'mg oing to have a breakdown.
Re: I really dislike "know it all MILs".
Sorry, didn't mean to be rude with the "walk all over" I really just meant she's bossy. Oops if I offended you.
MIL isn't as bad, but she has her moments. I was just commenting to DH last night about how she likes to hover when I change DD's diaper. He said that maybe she missed doing it. If that's the case, then she's more than welcome to change them when we're over there!
His grandmother (GMIL?) is worse. She was trying to tell me that BM wasn't enough and we needed to give her cereal- at 2 weeks old! She also couldn't believe that DD liked being swaddled at night.
I have to say, my own mother has been really really good about letting me handle DD myself. I like going there for visits because I feel like she appreciates the time with her granddaughter.
Stand up for yourself! My MIL can be way pushy, too, but she's come to understand that I'm not taking her crap anymore. NO she can't get my baby out of the nursery at church, NO he's not "her" baby, NO she can't take him out of his carseat when he's sleeping... practice that word and it'll do wonders

Do we have the same MIL???? My MIL says the same thing about BF (I EBF) even though she gave formula to all three of her boys, AND when DS cries she always says "oh! he needs a burp!". ?Since he is MY son, I can tell the difference between a hungry cry, tired cry or gas cry -- but she always insists it's gas. ?She even said it to DH on the phone tonight -- he has DS on his lap, and he started getting fussy and she said to DH " must be gas again....". AHHHHHHHHHHH
?
Oh yeah - my MIL is watching DS 3 days a week starting tomorrow (I returned to work last week, but DH watched DS then). ?The only bonus is, she shows up to watch DS after I leave for work and she'll be gone before I get home. Thank goodness!
