Clomid even if you're ovulating?

Hello,

We are trying to conceive another child. Though I have been getting my period regularly (and seemingly ovulating), my fertility doctor decided to start me on clomid (something we used to conceive our first child). Anyone have any luck with clomid alone when you were already ovulating? I'm finding mixed information but trying to remain hopeful.

It can help with thinning your lining and help with implantation! I am on it because I have some anovulatory cycles but I also have thick lining and weak eggs so my RE decided to start with Clomid to see if will help. I conceived DD on Clomid too. Good luck!

You don't want thin lining, you want it to be thick enough to actually support embryo implantation. Thin lining is a bad thing, but you are right, it absolutely can thin out your lining which is why all Clomid cycles should be monitored. I guess it would be good if your lining was too thick, but you would obviously require a DX of that.

OP to answer your question, I am ovulating every month on my own, I did Clomid and TI for 4 cycles, and Clomid + IUI for 1 cycle, all resulting in BFN.

What Clomid can actually do (if you are already ovulating and if you're not) is cause your body to create more than one mature egg per cycle, which *could* potentially give the sperm more chances to fertilize at least one in the best case scenario- but it could also result in you getting pregnant with HOMs if you aren't careful.

How long have you been trying now that you are ovulating on your own?

You're right but I have such irregular periods that my lining is way to thick which my RE thinks is inhibiting implantation. That's what I meant. Just to help thin lining in cases like mine.

She hasn't. Her OB said if she didn't get a positive OPK this second cycle he will do an HSG. I would assume he would have her come in to be monitored but she didn't mention it. I'll have to ask.

I would she if she's being monitored. I didn't get a positive OPK but a confirmed ovulation this cycle. I was using digitals this time and I don't think I caught my surge. I'm glad he is going to do an HSG if she doesn't get a BFP this time. Finger crossed for her though!

I ovulate on my own, but it is believed to be "weak" ovulation. Clomid (and a gonal f booster cd9) is the only thing that prevents me from spotting in the LP. I've done clomid + TI 3x, all BFN, and clomid with the gonal f booster + IUI 5x and one of those resulted in a BFP I later mc. I've definitely heard of clomid alone working for some though.
