I am contemplating starting potty training with DD. The thought of cleaning #2 from a potty seat is making me wonder if we can skip it and just do the smallet toilet seat that fits in the real toilet? Did any one do this?
We are going to be starting too and I was thinking this same thing! We decided to do both. She likes to sit in the bathroom with us when we go, so her own potty for these occasions would be good I think!
That's what we did. My DD was about 26 months when we started potty training but we never used a little potty. She had no problems other than needing help onto and off the potty at first. But she got used to using the stool and is fine now. Good luck!
We had the potty ring and she was scared and not too excited about it. Since we have gotten a little potty and she started using it, hasn't gone #2 yet though. She is only 22 months though. I think it just depends on the kid and what they feel comfortable with.
We used the little potty and yes it is gross to clean. But for the beginning I felt like it was the best choice because he could go without me having to help him, he's pretty short so he couldn't reach the big one, and he had just turned two. Now he uses the seat of #2 and is tall enough to pee standing up.
I something similar to this but it has steps too. I like it. Plus ds would not sit on a potty without a seatbelt lol. The insert is not that easy for him to get down without assistance at this age.
