Probiotics anyone?

Is anyone using probiotics for a baby this young? My EBF baby has a fussing fit every morning at 5:30 AM that lasts until he passes gas/poops up to 3 hours later.
We give gas drops with each feeding and I burp him. Gas doesn't really bother him any other time of day.
I'm considering cutting dairy out if my diet, but want to try probiotics also. I've seen Gerber Soothe-- are there other brands/ types I should consider?
