Mannerisms

DD now taps on everything with her fingers as if she is impatiently waiting for something to happen. It's so funny and so cute. Does any one else's baby do this? What are your baby's mannerisms.

Re: Mannerisms

  • That is adorable!!  I can't think of any real mannerisms DD has yet...she does a lot of imitating, so it's really cute to watch her try to imitate what she sees someone else doing.  That's all I've got!

  • I just realized i posted this on the wrong board. Im sure you guys are wondering WHO IS this person lol. Sorry!
  • If Jake is in a position in which he can stick his foot in his mouth, he will. Takes less than 10 seconds before he grabs his foot and draws those litle tootsies into his mouth (which now has teeth). Even funnier, the other day, he accidentally bit himself, but didn't know why his foot was hurting. He had a pained look on his face, but continued sucking/biting.

  • LO is tapping into his tiny bit of Italian and sort of doing this all the time!
  • Mrs. Castaldi: that is hilarious! I can just picture it...

Whenever my guy hears cheering or clapping he starts clapping too and makes a noise that sounds like "yayyyy!" He has this toy that cheers at the end of a song and without fail, he always claps to the cheers. So cute:)
  • she likes to smile at people. like, instantaneous...but it's not a full smile...its like a "Test" smile. Like "i think this is the appropriate response, let's see if you smile back" and then when they smile or talk back she looks so so proud of herself and starts waving and kicking her feet.

also, sometimes she'll "read" to her self. She'll look at a page and go "da!" and nod her head. then do it again and change her tone and go "yadaya!" and put a hand up. She'd rather read to herself then have myself or my husband do it...

so, lately she's been sitting with her back to the wall/bed and just kind of..banging against it?? like letting her head bounce back on it, and each time she gets this shocked look, like it hurts, but keeps doing it! knucklehead

  • If my ds is to be believed, blowing raspberries is part of speech in some part of this world. Ahhh Ahhhh raspberry Ahhhh.

A couple days ago during his early intervention session, the OT started laughing because he was making an odd sound in his throat and it sounded like ds was trying to purr to her.

DS growls. He's been doing it since he was 4 weeks old, since that's how DH would interact with him. He'd growl at DS and now DS growls at everyone as part of his regular speech. When I'm taking too long to get him food, he growls. When he's in an extra playful mood and wishes to convey it, he growls to tell me he wants to play. The cutest has to be when he'll be nursing and he'll look up at me, grin, growl and go right back to eating. He uses it interchangeably with words.

Of course, when he's grouchy and wants me, he'll crawl around crying "mamamamamama". Breaks my heart, but everyone in the house knows when he's crying like that only one thing will calm him down: me.
