8wk old with a cold

My daughter is on day 3 of a cold. Saw the pedi yesterday and confirmed no ear infection and he said not to worry too much as long as she doesn't have a fever (Whig she hasn't). Today I pulled so much green stuff out of her nose and she comfort nursed every hour except for when she finally napped for a good hour.


I've turned on the humidifier, used saline drops to help get stuff out of her nose, she is sleeping upright and I have rubbed baby vapo rub on her swaddle. Ive also been running the heat and have kept a hat on her when downstairs (where its cooler) Anything else you'd recommend I do? I am so afraid this could turn into something worse.

Tomorrow night we have a Christmas party and I'm feeling insanely guilty at the thought of going. It's with our bestest friends and is less than 5min from our house. Our nanny is scheduled to watch her but she has had trouble getting her to take a bottle the past few times she watched her. Party is at 730 and if LO has a normal night she would go down between 9-10pm with a bottle just before. I'm wondering if I should go to the party from 730-930pm, cross my fingers she doesn't want to comfort nurse and come straight home.

Opinions? Am I bad mom for even going?

    Since it's so close to home I would probably go if LO seems ok that afternoon. But I would definitely come home very early. Maybe even at 9. You could always call or text the nanny for updates around that time and then decide.

    No you're definitely not a bad mom for wanting to go. I'm a FTM and I'm also a younger mom (24). Most of my friends aren't even dating, let alone married with a baby. Sometimes my husband and I get antsy and want to get out of the house for a little while. If baby's sick, just try to stay up to date with nanny about how's she's doing. Because you live so close, you can be home in no time with there's an issue.
