pregnancy question for moms with a boy and a girl

I'm sorry if this has already been asked but I'm just curious, was your pregnancy different or the same? I hear that sometimes ladies had a totally different pregnancy for the opposite sex but not always. For some reason my husband thinks this one will be a boy but I'm feeling the same as I did for my girl so I don't know! Just curious to see the different answers! :)

Re: pregnancy question for moms with a boy and a girl

  • I don't have a DS and a DD. I have 2 DSs. I can say that both pregnancies were exactly the same. That might not be true for everyone but for me they were exactly the same.

This time it's different but I did use fertility drugs and get pregnant with an IUI so that could be why it's different. I'm not sure.

  • This is my 3rd pregnancy and all have been different. I think this one is more similar to DD but I don't really know. I have had similar symptoms for all three but just slightly varied. I think it's hard to compare because your body is different and older for each pregnancy lol.

  • I'm pregnant with my second and DH is convinced its a girl because this pregnancy is completely different than my pregnancy with DS. I'll get back with you once we find out the sex of this LO.

  • My pregnancies were just a little different. My morning sickness was much worse with my DS, but it was still pretty bad with DD. In my experience, the old saying that "girls steal their mothers beauty", held very true. Two days after I found out I was pregnant with DD I got a cold sore, my face broke out throughout my first tri, and I gained weight everywhere (just felt gross the entire time). With DS I didn't have any of that, and gained mostly in the belly. This time around I got another cold sore right after finding out I was pregnant, and my face has been breaking out.....so we will see...
  • This is feeling pretty similar to my pregnancy w/ my DD.  I think it is another girl for that reason.

  • I have two girls and a boy. My pregnancy for my second and third (boy and girl) was exactly the same in every way!

  • I had more and longer MS with DD, but it was still pretty mild, minimal pain but really high anxiety at the end (more likely from my crappy experience after having DS). I was super emotional, broke out, was pretty constipated and had a lot of cramping and back pain with DS. This time the MS is awful, I'm pretty constipated (maybe zofran related), breaking out, and exhausted. I'm interested to see what is going on in there, because I'm starting to worry about twins (not likely).

  • It's different in the since of how high and low you carry the baby i carried my middle ds way higher than my first ds and I carried my daughter lower than the other two. The weight gain is very different and the food cravings for me and dh were different each time so there are a lot of differences hope this helps
  • My first is a girl. This pregnancy feels differently than the first, but I'm also remarried. So maybe it's the male DNA. ;-)

  • I have a DS and a DD and now we're expecting again. All 3 pregnancies have been completely different. I think they're different just because they're different, not because of gender.

  • This is my 3rd and it's not like either. With dd I was vomiting day and night. With ds I felt great the entire time. This one is just nausea at night. It's got to be one or the other though so I'm not banking on that owt.

  • This is my third. With DD I carried so low I had trouble walking at the end of the pregnancy and had horrible leg and hip pain.  I gained everything in my belly.  With DS I gained weight everywhere and carried higher (I'm short so it's all relative).  I didn't have the bad pain in my legs and hips.  Other than that they were identical as far as acid reflux and the whole pregnancy m/s.  This one is a little different than the other two.  Like someone said, being older since the first probably plays a roll.  I was 30 when I had DD and I'll be 35 when I have this baby.

  • I dont really believe that the baby's sex makes much of a difference in how you carry. When I was pregnant with DD strangers kept coming up to me and telling me I was clearly having a boy because of how I was carrying. I always enjoyed telling them nope, it's a girl. It may be true that it affects how much m/s you have. I did have more with my girl than my boy. But there is probably a lot of overlap there too.
