Moving and LO

We are moving (locally) tomorrow. How long did it take your LO to adjust? Should I expect sleepless nights? No naps? Suggestions in making the transition easier? Or am I over thinking this like dh would say?

Re: Moving and LO

  • Set his room up first! Having his crib, toys and whatever else ready ASAP will be the best thing.

We moved when DD was 8mos. It was totally no big thing. We're about to move again so I'll be curious how your experience is! She's been on vacation with us as recently as October and did fine with sleeping. Just make sure to wear him out so he's really tired come bedtime. :)

  • I was so worried about how my son would do when we moved. He was 13 months old and it didn't seem to bother him at all.

  • We moved across the country and the hardest thing was the time change. He slept in a different crib in a different room and a different house, he was fine.  But my kid is super easy going and adjusts to anything.  If you have a LO who is more particular, then I would say all the PPs are right on!

  • So far so good. He's sleeping well. We set his room up first so he's comfortable. I'm worn out though! He didn't nap today either except for like 20 minutes in the car. Hopefully he likes his new place:)
  • I'm beat! I like to get things unpacked within a couple days but ds had other plans. I hope to have a grandma watch him this weekend so I can get it done:)
