We made it!

J did amazing on the flight. Lady behind us said she didn't realize there was a baby in front of her. Southwest will be getting a call from me though. We gate checked our stroller yet they "missed the tag" and brought it to baggage claim. We had to lug the car seat baby etc through the airport. Also, on the flight the carseat wouldn't fit even though it's aircraft rated. We tried to sit in the bulkhead but the steward made us move saying we had to sit with a seat in front of us. Of course... Half way through the flight he apologized and said they changed the guidelines and we could have sat there. So we paid for a seat and couldn't even use the car seat.

For the other mamas who travelled, did your rear facing seat fit? It fit forward facing but I didn't know if we could do that..

    Hi there. FA here. On my airline: You can put it forward facing even if the child is too small to be forward facing however mine (a graco) fit rear facing. Also you can totally be at a bulk head as long as there isn't an emergency exit which you are required to operate. talk to Southwest the should refund the seat selection money.

    Oh also ask if there are seats with more space. on our embraer jets the first 9 rows of economy (coach) have a little extra room. It may be enough to make the difference oh and make sure the seat in front of you isn't reclined. If it is no car seat in the world will fit rear facing.

    Glad J was so good on the flight! We didn't take our car seats or stroller with us on our trip so i have no advice.

    If they ever send your stroller to baggage again ask for a wheel chair to put the car seat on. Or you can hook the handle of the car seat over a Rolly suitcase and carry the baby. It's ridiculous that they screw that up because it's quite clear that strollers should always go plane side unless obviously checked. I think the ground crew is lazy sometimes and doesn't want to carry the stroller up the stairs. Boo lazy ground crew!!

    Our britax bsafe fit rear facing with the base. We lucked out... we didn't buy a seat but the flight wasn't full.

    Glad the flight was good!  I hope we arranged for cold enough weather for your arrival.  I'm with linegirl313 on the Dunkin Donuts.  They've got their seasonal hot chocolate flavor right now.  Yum!

    I'm digging the FA love.  My dad was a pilot for a regional airline and I used to entertain people at parties by reciting the whole spiel.  "Because a portion of this flight may be over water, and should the need arise, your seat cushion also doubles as a flotation device.  In preparation for take-off, please make sure that your seat backs and tray tables are in their full, upright and locked position..."
