Natural fiber prepping Q

I bought 3 flip inserts and I *know* they should be prepped separately. But Curious if they really need to since I only have natural fibers and those are *more* resilient to repelling type issues. Plus, 3 isn't very many....

Thoughts?

Tell me to suck it up and wash the rest of my laundry... God knows I need to anyways.

  • I wouldn't think three would ruin anything. I'm a weirdo, though, and would worry. Lol. Wash with towels?

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't synthetics washed just to get any manufacturing chemicals out?

I guess it's up to you, I'd doubt it would do anything to your current diapers.

Or just throw them in with some other laundry.

  • @sarenu1 I got the organic ones. So those typically need to be prepped to get the natural oils off them.

@mandmeesh I guess I'll just do towels first then wash again with diapers! :)

  • Wait, so your new flip inserts are natural fibers, and your usual stash are natural fibers? And natural fibers need to be washed like 5 times to prep? So I'd do all of the above. Wash with your towels, with your regular laundry, then with your dipes.

  • Yeah TJ that's what I would normally do, or say to do.... But I'm being lazy. And wanted *permission* to break the rules. :D

My rationality was that the natural oils from the new ones wouldn't be enough to do harm to the existing diapers, especially since they are all natural fibers and not say pockets (that could get repelling issues more easily).

Anyways I did one wash with towels! So the debate is closed. I wasn't horribly lazy.
