pregnancy loss after successful IVF

I'm not sure this is the right place to post this, but I need some input. My husband and I have been together since we were teenagers, almost 24 years. We've been trying to conceive for 9 and have tried everything. We were unable to do IVF with my own eggs due to premature ovarian failure, so we just tried IVF with a donor egg, for the first time, a month ago. I got pregnant! Everything looked great, HCG levels, etc. Then I went in last Wed to recheck my HCG levels and they didn't rise as much as they'd like. They called me in for my first ultrasound on Friday (3 days early) because they were concerned. There was no heartbeat, the yolk sac looked bigger than it should and my HCG levels rose even less. They asked me to come back in today to confirm and I'm so heartbroken to say that there was still no heartbeat, so they are planning a D & C as soon as they have availability. We still have 2 frozen embryos and we are trying to decide if we want to try again or if we should just move on to adoption or being child free. They said we could do genetic testing from the D & C, but they think the loss was random. I guess we probably need more time to process all of this, but I thought I would see if anyone has a similar story and could offer some support. Thank you.

I'm sorry for your loss. This isn't the right board though. This board is for ladies who "know" each other for over 6 months + from the infertility board. There is a Third Party Reproduction board where ladies are using donor eggs. I am trying DE for the 3rd time next month. I also had a m/c with HCG not rising appropriately earlier this year. You'll sadly find a lot of similar stories to yours over on 3rd Party Repro. Come join over there. I definitely think you should try with your frozen embryos. It often times doesn't work right away and it's devastating.

All of what McIrish said ... but definitely don't give up on your waiting embryos. I have been through this disappointment, too, and I know how much it hurts, but don't count yourself out after one transfer. Most of us have been through multiple. Good luck and take care!

Yes the third party board has a lot of similar stories including mine.
I recently did my first donor egg FET and I got pregnant but miscarried sadly. We have six frozen left and will be trying again in jan-feb but we are also moving forward with foster adoption as well. Good luck and do what ever feels right.

Thank you all - I will head over to 3rd party repro, but thank you for your replies. I do have some news. I requested one last ultrasound right before the D & C, for peace of mind (yesterday) and there was a heartbeat. It was lower than normal and the baby is measuring at 6wks 2days and I'm 7wks 4 days, and so they've essentially told me that the baby's heart will eventually stop beating and that I will lose the pregnancy. However, I'm choosing to think positively and while the heart is still beating I will keep my hope. If something bad happens I'll deal with it then, but I don't think it's good for either of us if I'm living life preparing for doom. Thanks again for your responses!
