based on your baby's personality right now, how do you think they will be in the future? Lately K's personality is really starting to shine through and I just can't help but picture him 10 or 20 years down the road with these same personality traits. It's interesting seeing him turn into an actual little person.
Re: Look into your crystal ball and tell me
Great question! I know there's no way of telling, but based on how she is now, here's my guess
DD is really interested in what's going on around her, and busy busy busy! In that regard, I think she'll be more like me, willing to try new things and take risks. DH is super laid back, but he's more of a rule follower than a risk taker. I think she's also be really independent, as she doesn't need me constantly.
Also, I think she'll be really empathetic. A couple of weeks ago, we were at a friend's house to hang out with another friend of ours whose almost ex-husband killed himself in October. She's having a hard time, and was crying really hard. We were all standing around her, and DD reached for her like she wanted to go to her. It was the first time she'd ever reached for someone, and had only been around this person twice. As soon as my friend took her, DD gave her a huge smile and my friend stopped crying and laughed. I know there are a million reasons why DD would have done this, but in that moment, she was able to make our friend feel better when no one else could. I was pretty proud of my girl!
It's funny, we think DD has many personality traits that DH and I don't share with her. We're mellow and like to just sit on the couch and relax... DD is the complete opposite of us. She's very active and curious, and she's always on the move. She likes to be the center of attention as long as she knows everyone in the room, otherwise she's a little shy. I'm the same way in that I'm shy when I first meet people, but then I'm outgoing once I get to know them. I think she'll also be determined and stubborn... which is just going to be great when she's a teenager.
I think DD is a blend of both DH and I. From me she gets stubborness, and emotional (she can go from sad to happy and back again in mere seconds). From DH she gets her activity level (she's very active) and her need to be doing something.
At her 6 month pedi appt the pedi said that we will have our hands full with her, and I believe we will (and already do!)
I think DD will be a big talker - both DH and I talk a lot. She started talking when she was 5 1/2 months old and hasn't stopped since. I think she'll also be a pretty active person because she never stops moving - did the same thing in the womb. I know she'll also be a social butterfly since she has yet to meet a stranger. We had a Christmas party at our house last Saturday with about 45 people there, and did DD cry or fuss at the number of people there? No way! She was the center of attention and loved every second of it.
Joseph is a charmer. He knows perfectly well that a big smile and blowing a kiss will get him just about anything from just about anybody.
In 20 years, I think he's going to have a long, long list of broken hearts to his credit. Player.
