It seems we've got a lot of creative ladies on this board, so I'm curious to hear about how you revealed the sex, or plan to if you haven't (or don't know it) yet?
Our initial plan was to find out the sex at our 20 week u/s, which is 12/23.  So when we see our families for the holidays, we were going to take a cake, with either a pink or blue layer of frosting in the middle.
Due to a little scare and an ultrasound to check on things, we actually found out the day before Thanksgiving.  Knowing there was going to be tons of pie, I decided to forgo the cake idea. I bought a bunch of little blue ornaments and put them in a black gift bag with white tissue paper.  When everyone got together for Thanksgiving, I had my mom reach in and draw one out of the bag... revealing that it was blue.  Then everyone got an ornament.

But, I am no baker, and they look pretty hideous. But they have blue M&M's inside and will do the trick. I always think these baking projects appear so simple and they never end up that way!
those are so cute! i just know if i attempted something like that, it would end up like this:
We're having an elective ultrasound the Saturday before Christmas, and a few immediate family members are going with us and will find out when we do. After that I'll probably just say "It's a ___!" on FB for those few friends who actually want to know. Anyone else can figure it out through conversation and from the items on the baby registries.
DS: 11/8/11 | 9 lb 7 oz, 22 in
DD: 5/22/14 | 9 lb 9 oz, 21.5 in
Anatomy scan is Dec 10, and as long as baby cooperates we are going to put pink or blue yarn in a box and wrap it for Christmas, and that will be the last gift she opens as the finale. I think it is the perfect way for her to find out.
I can't decide if I should let my dad find out by witnessing that, or tell him secretly before, or something else. He knows when the anatomy scan is and he knows my plan for telling mom. I probably will just let him find out that way but am open to other ideas.
Can anyone come up with any good reveal ideas for after christmas? I am drawing a blank because I was so excited about doing it on Christmas and can't get it out of my mind. Also, something for family I won't see?
This. We called everyone and told them (family/close friends) then posted on FB a few days later. We did the same when we found out about DS.
And I was thinking about doing pictures to announce online of me blowing either blue or pink glitter toward the camera for the extended family.
