Where are you at weaning? We are not even close to weaning...the good news is I'm no longer pumping and DS has dropped the mornin feeding. He nurses at 6am right when he gets up and then again about 12-1 pm right before nap...and again about 6pm right before he goes down for bed and then throughout the night ..where are you at?

We're about the same. First thing in the morning, before nap, before bed, and through the night (maybe once or twice).

DS has been "asking" occasionally by reaching down my shirt. I'll nurse him when he asks, but it's only for a minute or two.

I have no plans to wean. I'd like to go as long as DS wants to. Which I'm aware could be 3 or 4 years. I'm prepared to go that long, but I'm giving myself permission to change my mind if I'm not enjoying it anymore.

We are still nursing in the morning, before bed, and anytime she gets up on the middle of the night. I work full time so on the weekends sometimes its before nap too. I don't see us stopping anytime soon. She likes it and asks for it. I have thought about dropping the morning feeding soon but I'm not sure if I'll actually go through with it

DS weaned himself at 14-15 months so having to actually force myself to stop and feel like I'm taking something away from her is new to me.

I nurse DS first thing in the morning and before bed and occasionally MOTN. Not sure when we'll stop. I am still enjoying it and he is too.

Geez. I think DD is a boob-a-holic... She nurses every 3-4 h still and at MOTN too. She does go up to 6h without nursing when I am not around and does not want frozen milk anymore. I stopped pumping at 1yr. AF hasn't visited yet, so... no signs of weaning yet.

We have fully weaned. Last one was about a month ago. She started getting uninterested during feeding so I went with a don't offer-don't refuse for a few days and she only asked like twice. So the next 2 times she asked I distracted her and she didn't really ask again. She was just done and really, so was I.

After 3.5 years of being either pg or bfing I finally have my body back to myself and I love it. (I have however, gained 5-10lbs since quitting and my hormones were a little wacky - I was like a teenage boy).

We weaned DD about two weeks after her birthday. I basically had to wean her because it was taking to much out of me to be pregnant and nurse her (losing weight). I slowly started taking feedings away, her night feeding was the last to go. She has never asked for it, which made me a little sad. It was actually much easier then I thought it would be and I will probably wean this baby around the same time because i felt that it was easier then waiting.

I will say that I have noticed a difference in her health. When I nursed her she was sick once and it was a quick cold. Sense her birthday she has been sick 3 times and right now she has a rash from her high fever over the weekend.

Dd still nurses first thing in the morning, when I get home in the evening, and right before bed. During the days I'm home, she asks to nurse (usually by trying to lift my shirt, lol) about every 4 hours or so. I only refuse if we're out in public and there isn't a good place to sit down. My guess is she'll ween herself in the next few months or so. I'm happy to stay with it for as long as she wants.

This is my DS as well. He nurses when he wakes around 6, then right when we get home from daycare and work, and then 1-2 times more before bed, plus stil doing MOTN feeds. On weekends, he'll nurse more during the day as well. No signs of weaning anytime soon and I'm so far okay with that.

Until 2 weeks ago I was feeding DS 3 times a day and once or twice at night. Then I cut out the night feedings and he dropped the nursing he usually got at nap time. Now I only nurse him in the morning and at night. I don't know how much milk he actually gets during this time, but it's a nice way to start and finish the day.

Speaking of breastfeeding, I'm dealing with a nasty bout of mastitis. I had it once before at 8 months and it was bad. This time is much worse.

The nurses kept saying "I guess this will be the end of breastfeeding!" And were surprised when I said no.

I mean mastitis is terrible. In about 6 hours I go from a little breast pain to a 103 fever, body aches, throwing up, etc. But it only last a couple days. And the best thing for it is nursing! Why would a couple bad days make me stop?

Whoa, I had that at 3 weeks and it was awful! BF was really hard in the beginning because of that. It took about 4 months before I fully recovered, so I feel pretty darn amazed I made it this far. I don't know if I would make it through a second bout, so good for you!

We started weaning a week or so ago. We want to have another baby and I haven't had my first pp period yet, so l made the hard decision to start weaning. i'm so emotional. my kid nurses a lot and nurses to sleep. we cut out the day nursings. so we only nurse at bedtime, if she wakes up during the night, and when we wake up before we start our day.

its pretty rough. my breasts have just started to even out so they aren't killing me. she does ask a few times a day but I distract her.

We aren't weaning...still feeding on demand. My breastfeeding "goal" with both kids has been to at least two.

eva and i had cut down to 2xs a day (in am &pm) but she's been miserable since MMR vaccine so on occasion we still do 3xs a day

We weaned fully at about 13.5-14 months. I actually can't pinpoint the actual time because it was gradual. She was never much of a demander so we cut out the daytime feedings and finally gave up nighttime and she never really asked after that. I'm glad it was so easy but sad in a way too. I'm glad I didn't know the last time WAS the last time; I'd have been a wreck

Hi, I am a May 2014 momma but also have a June 2012 little one. I've never posted here before but I am also still breastfeeding. In the morning when she wakes up and at night before bedtime. Any mommas out there have experience with tandem breastfeeding just in case my June '12 one isnt weaned by then???
