Hi Ladies,
Though this isn't my first experience with miscarriage (I've had 5 previous miscarriages), this will be my first loss in the 2nd tri. About a week and a half ago at 12.5 weeks pregnant I had my Perinatologist appointment where we discovered our baby though still alive, has hydrops and a cystic hygroma-both recipes for imminent demise. We know it is most likely due to my DH's balanced translocation, but obviously that doesn't lighten the heartbreak we feel.
I had another u/s with my OBGYN yesterday at 14 weeks along and the baby is still alive. Sadly in this situation I was really hoping its heartbeat would have stopped so we can move onto the D&E.
Right now we are avoiding a termination, but having to wait this out is just brutal. To further complicate things, we are a military family and have movers scheduled to pack us up in 1.5 weeks. We will be en route to our new base over the next month! And I won't have a Dr. who knows my predicament!
There is never a good time to lose a baby, but this is just ridiculous!
Has anyone here had to wait for your baby's demise after a similar diagnosis? If so, how long did it take? I keep thinking, if the baby is so sick...how is it still hanging on? It's such an unnatural thing to wish for. Ugh!
I am sorry for the pain and loss everyone here has/is experiencing. I've grown to really love this website, for anyone looking to commiserate.
