What is your baby's position?

Do you know your baby's position? I am curious of what everyone's baby is doing since we are at or past 32 weeks. (Yes, I know it can still change, but less likely after 34 weeks). I am still curious.
BFP #1 (7/13/12) MC (8/14) 9 weeks. D & C 8/17.
BFP #2 (5/18/13) due 1/26/14. Grow baby grow!
Its a surprise! Team green!

Re: What is your baby's position?

  • Found out today mine is still breech. It was breech at 27 weeks but at 24 weeks it was vertex. Obviously I have no idea if its changed at all during the past 5 weeks, guess we will never know! My doctor thinks the chances of it flipping are not in my favor, due to a few factors. We will see.Versions scare me and if baby is still breech I think I wouldjust go with a section.  I am ok with a c section as long as baby is safe and healthy, my main concern!

  • DS was frank breech and we tried the version. The doc literally pushed him out of my pubic bone and tried turning him. Her fingers were digging into my stomach and it hurt like hell. I only tried it bc my hospital doesn't do VBACs, so I knew if I got a c section, I would never have a chance to go vaginal, which bummed me out. I tried spinning babies, etc. I called a chiro, but never went thru with that.
C section was nothing. The worst part was the IV bc I didn't have water, so I was dehydrated and my veins collapses. They did it three times and I almost passed out. I didn't feel the spinal and afterwards, I was in baby bliss, so the pain was minimal for me.

  • I had weekly u/s with DS2 and he was in a different position every week until 35 weeks when he finally stayed head down.  But baby girl has been head down since 18 weeks and I'm hoping that doesn't change now.

Most OBs don't start to worry about breech/transverse babies until after 36 weeks.

  • I have a fully occiput posterior baby. My MW said there's little chance of him turning anterior now that he has engaged, but he may turn in labour.

  • This kid has been transverse/diagonal for weeks. Sometimes, he goes completely sideways, but usually his head is toward my left left and his butt is by my right kidney (which are my two bad spots. Thanks, kid). On Tuesday, he was vertex and I was like hell yeah! But it didn't last long. Oh well.
  • Head down after being breech for the past month!  Laying upside down on an ironing board and chiropractor did the trick again.  Now lets hope baby stays head down.

Same for me. Baby has been head down since at least 26 weeks, but is always moving from side to side. Although, I've noticed he's been staying in the middle more over the past week or so.

  • Its not been completely confirmed, she was transverse during an U/S two weeks ago in the ER to check her heartbeat, but I think she's switching between that and vertex (maybe it's more diagonal?). I can feel her back across the top of my stomach and see where she's pushing out at my right side, but at times I can feel what seems to be her little butt at the top and her back going down close to my belly button. Who knows though, she's everywhere! Hopefully we'll have a growth U/S soon and find out for sure.
  • Heads down and she has been this way for months. I have an us in 2weeks (I'll be 34+w) and hoping that is still the case.

  • Breech all the time for at least a month, ever since he's been big enough for me to tell.  Sometimes he moves a little diagonal, but he's never actually turned.

He kicks me right up front, midway between the navel and pubic bone ALL DAY LONG.  Apparently he thinks it's a door.  Well, if he doesn't turn, I suppose that's where he'll be coming out!
  • Makenna has FINALLY flipped into a head down position. About a week ago she was flipping all around but not staying head down. I think she's just running out of room now though lol

  • My OB took a peek yesterday, and LO is head down. I hope he stays that way! She thinks I'll be able to tell if he flips because it will be some pretty substantial movement, but we'll check again at 36 weeks.

  • My baby keeps putting her butt against my lower right rib and her head slightly lower on my left side.  She is getting too long to do this!  I am waking up with my rib hurting.  I can't wait until my 36 week appointment on Monday to see what the doctor says.  @MarBee1214 - I am thankful that your baby moved into position at 36 weeks and I am hoping mine does the same very soon!
  • I voted transverse but that is as of a few weeks ago and my guess based on what I feel. We'll find out for sure a week from Thursday. Hoping he moved head down.

Same here! I constantly am getting kicked there too!

On Thursday at our U/S, it was confirmed that LO is still in the Frank Breech position and has been since our 18 week A/S. Baby moves diagonal but doesn't actually flip. OB is doubtful that LO will flip at this point so we will confirm on Tuesday at our next appointment that my C-section will be on 12/30.

Yeah, 36 weeks is the point at which, if they haven't turned, they probably aren't going to. (Babies who turn back and forth all the time are a different case.)  I'm only 34 weeks, so he might get a sense of direction soon.
  • Baby girl is head down and has been since 28 weeks!  Hopefully she stays that way!
  • Baby girl is breech and has been since my 20 week U/S. My OB isn't concerned until my 36 week U/S... I do have a bicornuate uterus though, so I'm preparing myself for a C section if it should come to that.
  • Baby has been head down since 21 weeks and has been that way since. We did an u/s on Tuesday to check my fluids and the tech said her head is still head down.

  • Can I SS this?

As of my last appt, he was head down. However, the past 4 days I've been in a lot of pain and he's been thrashing around. Something tells me he's back to breech or transverse (last night, I felt his head on my ribs). I'll find out at my next doctor's appt.

  • I voted vertex since that's how he was at my last appointment. But I think he switches between that and transverse, as I'm getting kicks on either side at any given time, but always up near my ribs. I'm 35w4d.

Transverse is better than breech. It doesn't take too much to flip to head down!
