Baby acne or allergy?

I'm waiting for a call back for the Dr. But, any of you moms dealt with an actual allergy to formula and it being associated with baby acne or rash? I know most babies get some baby acne. I'm just trying to figure out if this much is normal that my LO has on her face or if it could possibly be a reaction to the formula. She loves to have her hands by her face and gets formula on them so it could just be from that but it's spreading so I'm not sure. I had an allergy to formula when I was a baby and developed a rash and had to switch to soy from what my mom says so I'm wondering if she's the same. If your baby had an allergy how did the rash look if they got it on their face?

    I just got back from the pediatrician who switched us to soy. One of the reasons she said was because of the rash on my LOs face. To me, it looked like itty bitty bumps/hives that appeared around her eyes, nose, mouth, and hair line.

    One bottle of soy formula later and the bumps are almost gone.

    I mean this without any snark, but hives do not look anything like baby acne.  Have you googled and looked at the images of an infant with hives and infant acne?

    ETA:  Both of my boys have had dairy allergy and DS2 had an egg allergy.  The hives will come and go with exposure, while baby acne is more constant.  It's not going to come and go.
