Another rolling question

I seem to recall someone posting a link on here for an article of advise to help your LO start rolling over. Does anyone remember who it was or what the link was? We're probably going to be iced in all weekend and I plan on working on this with LO. TIA!

  • Yeah no training here either just as much tummy time that she would tolerate (which wasn't a lot). She just decided one day that she wanted to roll over. Now she's all over the place!
  • I guess I'm worried about it than I need to be then. This is the only thing that she isn't really doing yet, and feel like she's behind. We'll just lay on the floor all weekend. Maybe it will help her.

  • LO kept leaning his head one way and I was tempted to pick him up bc he was ego gong to fuss but waited and then he rolled over...been doing it ever since. :)

  • I've heard of using a towel or blanket under them to help but I don't think its necassary. They'll roll when they're ready.

  • I agree with pp. We would put her on her back on her activity mat. LO would roll over to her side and then one night she decided to start trying to roll over. Within 24 hours she was rolling over completely

We would praise her whenever she tried it. Whenever she had a hard time with figuring it out I would go through the motions with her. It only clicked when she was ready.

DD will be 4 months on the 14th.

  • We just put DS1 on his tummy a lot and he figured it out. No training necessary.

    He is a genius though.

lol this! My LO has been rolling over since 13 weeks but according to my ped that's considered *early*.

  • Random question, but all of you ladies who have roll-over babies....do they also push up on their arms during tummy time? LO hates tummy time, we make her do it for small increments....she has great neck muscles but just doesn't seem interested in the arms.

  • LO just rolled from tummy to back for the first time (twice actually) today! She is 16 weeks old (will be 4 months on the 14th). We didn't do anything special, just tummy time, and she figured it out.

Someone had posted a link to a site with age-appropriate activities. If I remember correctly, one of the suggestions was to "roll" LO from tummy to back and vice versa using a blanket. We tried this a few times during tummy time and he rolled on his own after 2 days of playing like this. Could be just a coincidence. I feel like it might have been a Fisher Price website...?????

ETA I think it was this site:
