See that 9"-12" band there in southern Indiana. Yeah, that's where I am... 4 days from my due date and 45 minutes from the hospital. Things could get interesting!
I can relate to worrying about the weather. It's snowing here and I am wondering if our baby boy is going to decide that this would be the perfect time to come Stay warm and stay safe!
We have an advisory here too. And naturally I live right by the highest point in the county, which they are saying will be the worst. So I plan on cuddling up to my animals and SO and praying that we can at least drive still should we need to! You both stay safe if you have travel too!
This was our house just before our DD2 was born. Northern CA. We made it to the hospital which was 45 minutes away with no issues. Have faith and be safe!
I'm in the middle of the ice storm thats's going on in North Texas right now and this weekend is probably the only time I'm going to wish DS stays in until at least Sunday. Fortunately, we're close to the hospital, we have a 4WD truck and DH has put together an insane emergency kit just in case baby doesn't care about the weather and we have get on the road.
I've been freaked out about that since learning we were expecting... We live in the suburbs of Chicago, which is notorious for having all 4 seasons in a day haha. I just kind of figured with my luck, our baby will be born during a crazy snowstorm in December.
So far it looks like we may be expecting 1-3" Sunday, which isn't too bad, but the fact remains that everyone apparently forgets how to drive when the first flake falls.
Same here. We're in New England and there's supposed to be 2-4 inches tonight and "plowable" snow Sunday night into Monday. I'm not so worried about us getting to the hospital as my Mom getting over here to watch DS so we can leave. I think she may end up spending the night here when there is bad weather, just in case.
My entire family (besides me and DH) was supposed to fly home to DFW today to celebrate Thanksmas so my folks can come here to Chicago around Christmas to be with me right around when I have my baby. Everyone was planning on using my parent's AA retiree standby tickets. And now the airport is shut down. There is no way anyone is going to make it with D3 (the lowest level of employee family) tickets by tomorrow. It's not possible.
So, basically, Thanksgiving and Christmas are cancelled at my mom's house. I'm feeling really bad for her. And slightly responsible for the Thanksmas plans in the first place. Sad.
I'd be concerned, but that's cause I like to worry.
We get lots of snow here too, and lots in the forecast but we are only 5 minutes from hospital. 10 in the snow I'd say. I'm more concerned about my family coming to visit us after LO is born. Its almost 4 hours away and you have to drive through one of the most dangerous highways - get's TONS of snow. I hate thinking about that. I've told them all to not come if there is precipitation - but I feel some might risk it which worries me.
