When or have u started giving your LO a blanket? I Ist did tonight cause he fell asleep with no pj on and didn't want to wake him so I gave him a blanket, just a little anxious
I sometimes give S a blanket at naps but I too am super paranoid about it , so I go in there every couple minutes then when she is asleep I take it away. She really seems to like the blanket is why I put it on her in the first place, but I believe 1 is when you can give blankets
R is a total blanket kid. He loves them. I did until he because this sleeping spider man. He rolls, turns, climbs in his crib. Now he just has this small lovey and it seems to work. But I cannot wait until he's big enough to have a real blanket again.
J has one in his crib. He has never managed to get it over his face, yet. It's been below zero for 3 days now and our heater and his lil space heater aren't cuttin it right now.
IMO, blankets aren't safe until a child can intentionally pull something off of their face. At this age, when LO gets stuck somehow (like wedged in her pack n play), or plops one of her toys on top of her or something, I have to rescue her, she can't save herself yet. We had sleepsacks on DD1 until at least 1, maybe a little longer. I also like them better because they can't kick them off. They make sleepsacks for early standers/walkers too, that have leg holes in them.
Although you aren't supposed to give them a blanket, I give C one that my sister knitted. It has pretty big holes so I feel slightly better about that one rather than a solid fleece one. Still it isn't advisedutil after 12 months.
Another Merlin suit here. Though he has a lion lovey that has been with him the last few months. Sometimes he'll purposefully arrange it so the blanket part is over his face. Freaks me out every time but it definitely helps him sleep.

mommatotwo2, if you get a flag from me it was unintentional. My thumb was hovering above Flag, had some weird spasm, and clicked Flag. So I clicked Love it on your post to undo the flag. Sorry! Damn touchscreen phones!
