Im curious does anyone have a favorite christmas memory?
I think mine would be from when i was five or six, it was the year lion king came out. My parents got me this giant stuffed simba that roared. I didnt know it roared until i squeezed it. I freaked out and ran to my dad and wouldnt touch simba for a couole days. He then became my FAVORITE toy.
Poot simba was my first make up victim, i mearn errr client.
Re: gtky favorite christmas memory
That is the most touching story ever.
Also... I cannot get over the fact that you are wearing that dang pooh bear. I hate him. I am a pooh hater.
After that for about a year, I made an egg or two a month. I hang them on my tree every year with the others. My tree is mostly eggs. My aunts and I take pics of out trees and send them back and forth every year. It's a happy/sad memory. We took the time and said goodbye right. We love remembering the laughs we shared over those 2 weeks.
I love those eggs. I can't wait until my girls are old enough to learn to do them. Maybe one year there will be 3 generations of women making W%ashi Eggs again.
Okay... gonna go call my Aunties now.
I remember my first Christmas, I couldn't understand why I had so many gifts (it wasn't a lot but at the time seemed like it). I was so overwhelmed I cried and cried and didn't know what to do with myself.
Every year I try to remember that feeling of overwhelming thankfulness so that I don't take all that I'm given for granted.

One year I was like 7 or 8 and I woke up in the middle of the night and decided it was a perfect time to open my presents. I went downstairs, turned the tree on and quietly began unwrapping my gifts. By the time my mom woke up, it was 5am and I had everything open! I should have been in a lot of trouble, but when she woke my dad to tell him/have him yell at me, he couldn't stop laughing.
Mom died December 23, 1999 and dad died this past February... Christmas always is special time for me and I hope my LO will grow up having amazing memories like I do.
This year I'm excited to surprise my sisters with a recordable book that my mom recorded for us girls. It's going to be a really special gift!

Last Christmas was my partner's first with my family, also my father's last as he passed away in June. We weren't ready to announce my pregnancy yet so my partner had to drink my beer. He would drink his then we would switch so I had the empty bottle. It was quite a holly jolly Christmas for him!
Eta: Wow...I got the Christmas memories and Christmas traditions threads blended into my head as one thread. Mommy brain fail!
