Red Solo Cups??

I was drinking water out of a red plastic solo cup today and was scolded by a friend because I was drinking out of plastic.  Has anyone ever heard of this??  I know that water bottles left in the heat can lead bpa into water but this was just a fresh cup.  Thoughts???

  • Sounds a but ridiculous to me. I've never heard anything like that besides what you already mentioned about not drinking out of a bottle that's been hot. I'd say your fine. People think they know everything when it comes to pregnancy.
  • Some people are really weird about plastic. My guess is your friend is paranoid about a lot of other things, too. As long as you aren't microwaving your water in the cup, I wouldn't worry.

Maybe googling "red solo cup while pregnant" didn't bring up the desired results?

  • I drink all my water out of a Bobble- a plastic water bottle with an attached carbon filter. If I had to hunt down a glass glass for all my water I'd be dryer than the Sahara.

    Some people worry too much.

  • From what I know, the plastic thing is only worrisome if its been used and washed repeatedly or been heated, and even then you'd have to do that alot for it to do anything like screw up the babies hormones, which is what the concern is... Something about causing girls to reach puberty super early. People need to calm down, if we followed all the "rules" during pregnancy we'd all be locked inside of bubbles, but apparently not bubbles made of plastic.

Not a random post on a random board.  I have posted on here before and am expecting twins due May 25.   Why does there always have to be a rude person in the bunch?

Oh wah. It showed me that you only had one post ever and I went off that. Refer to the blocking post if you would like to stop seeing my posts. You're welcome.

  • Sorry I have no thoughts on this but as soon as I saw the title I started singing "Red Solo cup, I fill you up, lets have a party…!!!" Haha!!
    Same.  Hehe.

You probably ran into one of those paranoid people.  I drink out of plastic party cups all the time and my baby is fine.
