When to introduce cereal..

What is a good time frame for introducing cereal and/or baby foods? DS is almost 6 weeks so he obviously has quite a while before I do introduce it. Just wanted to get an idea!

Never if you are focused on nutrition lol. Cereal doesn't have any nutritional value, but around 6 months is when it's recommended to start solids. Skip the cereal and start with something healthy- we'll start with avocado sometime after 6 months.

I think we started DD on a few tablespoons of oatmeal at 4 months in the morning then gradually introduced BLW and homemade purées from there.

We did baby oatmeal with DD around 5 months, and then when she moved onto other solids I would mix apple or pear puree into it. She still eats oatmeal (moved up to the regular kind now) which I love because it keeps everything moving, if you know what I mean ;-)

This! Do not plan on doing cereal at all! 6 months for food and I plan on making my own.

It's sold right next to the rice cereal. it's just another cereal type, but it at least has a small amount of nutrients to it.

Yep. Or you can use regular one-minute quick oats and blend them in the food processor until it's a fine powder. Mix with water, BM, or formula and you're good to go!

6 months. We did oatmeal with DS and after a few days of making sure he was ok with the oatmeal, we mixed apples in and then introduced other fruits/veggies.

Think we might start with avocado this time...

No cereal here. We'll jump straight to solids around 6 months just like we did for DS
