Nesting on Bedrest...

Is impossible! I'm going absolutely stir crazy, and all I can think about as I lay in this bed is that there are a million things that need to be done! This includes rearranging all the drawers and cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom to make room for LO's stuff, and all the cleaning that didn't get done this past weekend with the baby shower and SO having to work! :(

Poor SO is trying, but I'm so obsessive when it comes to how things are organized that I can't even imagine it would help me feel better if he did it himself. I think I'm losing it! Lol. So, how's everyone else dealing with nesting, if you have any yet, especially those on strict bedrest?

Re: Nesting on Bedrest...

  • My nesting luckily has consisted of doing things slowly, washing and putting things away as I get them so it hasn't really built up. That said, I'm also not on bedrest so I can't relate to how frustrating that has got to be. How strict is your BR? Are you able to do a few little things each day?

  • How strict is your bed rest? Could you sit on the floor and do some sorting and organizing? I can't imagine how stir crazy you must be.

  • For me I drew up maps and sit on the floor or couch while H has been cleaning. Of course even if I wasn't on bed rest H would end up cleaning since he doesn't want me by the clean supplies with the chemical smells.

  • I hear ya! I have been doing very little things here and there...very little...but I am on bedrest for a different reason. DH has been great at getting a lot done and ready and I will inspect it when I get up for bed and after thanking him for all he has done, pick apart the things he needs to still do or fix. It  is so hard. I try to remember that baby needs so little when she comes and I don't need to be 100% done before she comes or that the stores will be open when she does come and stuff isn't hard to get.

  • We sorted everything when we had the shower and SO has everything put together, so luckily, other than washing everything, that's all ready to be put away!

I've been doing very little, I'm only really only supposed to get out of bed to pee so it's been little things I can do in bed or sitting down. This weekend SO is off, so I'll try to supervise the organization of all the cabinets, it doesn't help that we have very little storage in our apartment! Who knew babies came with so many extra pieces? Lol.
  • This is when your family/friends comes in handy, im on bedrest but not as strict as it use to be....i think the pp that says just to focus on what the baby immediate needs will be has help alot for me...im not concerned about the wall decal that needs to be put up, or the crib and dresser that still has not been put together, the curtains that still need to hang.....
